We will leave the kids at grandmas then we hit up wendy’s or arby,s dollar menu. We will go the canyon and go on a hike or make a fire and roast marshmallows again. Its the kind of date you did as a teenager, its fun and makes us feel young and spontaneous again!

My hubby and I go out and share a meal if it’s a sit down place, and we ALWAYS share our soda/drink. We’ve done this for the past 5 years, and have saved a lot of money this way!

Fridays are our movie night. We get movies from Netflix. We watch a movie with the kids and then when they are in bed we watch our movie. We don’t get to go out a lot with four kids but when grandma is able to babysit we usually go to a friends house for a BBQ or split a pizza.

Buy coffee at Baker’s Square on free pie nights and get the pie free : )

My husband and I try to go out once a week. We always try to use restaurant.com certificates that i get at least 80% off. We also do netflix. Movie tickets are expensive so we do movie nights in.

Eating dinner at home and then going to a coffee shop and just talking..with no kids..and no dirty diapers. Lol!

I’ve already liked you on Facebook.

We like watching a movie from the library while the children are in bed.

we tend to do Saturday morning bike rides. It costs us nothing, we bike about 8 miles, take a break and have a granola bar and then bike home. Almost no cost and burns calories also!!

Sunday morning reading the paper to each other in bed, then a quick brunch before trail riding through the timber. Love the time with my husband and nature.

For Date Night we’re lucky to have free babysitting (actually, our parents almost nag us to be able to babysit our son), so it’s great not to worry about any cost there. Another way to save on childcare for date night is to swap with another couple, so we have watched my sister’s son one weekend, and she takes ours another time.
Katy
Tonight, our date night will include
1. Soup cooked at home with garden veggies – CHEAP
2. Movie from the library – FREE
3. Candy from Riteaid, Hershey Bliss – FREE
4. 13 month old daughter going to bed around 7 or 8 pm – PRICELESS
Who said that date night has to be out on the town? Our best date nights are date nights in – sometimes we will have a half price coupon and order in, sometimes we redbox – but we really like thinking about lists of movies from 3+ years back that we would like to see and putting them on hold at the library. The recent movies we have seen include “Dragonheart” and “Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy” (yes we are nerds). Plus, we don’t have to get a babysitter and we know our daughter is okay. Trading babysitting with another couple works well too, my only advice is to get another couple with the same amount of kids and like ages so that they can play together and it is an even trade both ways.

I like you on facebook (although I have a different but similar email address)

We only get a real date night if grandma can watch the kids. Babysitters are too expensive. Otherwise, I’m perfectly happy getting the kids to bed a little early and sitting down with a good movie and a tub of ice cream.

Sometimes it’s just a walk through Costco to eat free samples and look around.
Journey To Our Home
Our cheap date night includes:
1) no kids- free babysitting with the in-laws
2) a netflix movie… either one we currently have or we do the live streaming.
This is usually all we do for date nights. Sometimes we take a walk at dusk, or just sit down and actually eat a meal on our deck together without the kids.
Anytime we don’t have the kids it feels like a date!!

We don’t get date night often, but when we do…we do it big. We love seafood or steak. We usually eat at the casino’s restaurant. Not the buffet, that’s not romantic. Grammie is a blessing and she LOVES to babysit!
Elizabeth Walker
I had exchange babysitting with another mom for free babysitting, won free tickets to a movie, and used a couple of gift cards for almost a free date! I think we spent the gas and a couple of extra dollars!

Our cheap dates always include a cheap or free babysitter, a nice but not too expensive dinner, and then usually just some alone time, wandering around Walmart or Home Depot! LOL

Our “date night” is actually every Saturday morning. My dear husband and I go to a local, family-owned restaurant and have a modest breakfast, while reading the morning paper together, and while mapping out our route for the yard sales that follow our breakfast date! I couldn’t be happier — it’s such a special time for the two of us to be together, and it’s a great way for us to start the weekend!

Date nights at our house are so few and far between. Between the 6 kids and him driving a truck for a living it’s almost impossible. When he does get home, we really enjoy popping in a redbox after the kids are sleeping. Nothing better than enjoying my hubby at home!!

We watch movies a lot after the kids go to bed. But if we go out, we’ll eat at home so that we only have to pay for the movie.

Our thrifty date night ideas include snagging free movie screening passes when they come to our area and certificates from restaurant.com … the standard dinner/movie date night doesn’t get much thriftier than that!!

It seems I can usually find a B1G1 restaurant coupon pretty easily, the last one we used was for Bob Evans. If we don’t have a coupon we go to Stevie B’s pizza buffet…all you can eat pizza, desert pizza, salad, breadsticks and drink included for $5.99/person. They we hit our $1 movie theater. It’s the older movies, but for the price, we don’t complain. To us, they’re usually new releases anyway. For less than $20, we have a fun relaxing date night!

We barely have any date nights, but we do try and swap babysitting nights with our neighbors and church friends…

Tonight our date night included a trip to Lowes to get supplies for our remodel. Scoring about $700 worth of merch for $250, <3 dings/scratches, and in about 15 mins when our little guy goes to bed we'll watch Smallville and then start cranking out the bathroom remodel!
**Proud moment- DH says "Look honey, that was originally $169 and now its only $78." I'm turning my hubby into a thrifter!**

My husband and I like to order food from a restraunt like Chilis, and we don’t eat in. We take it to go so we save on the tips. We usually drive to the beach and eat and watch the sun go down. If we have some time(we have a 5 month old) we love to go on base and see a free movie. A nice cheap date night.
