Okay – so it is better late than never!! We had baking day #3 yesterday – where we made 2 dozen Ginger Snaps and 2 dozen sugar cookies. Honestly, I was swamped with final preparations yesterday, but thankfully, the recipes were soooo simple and our newest 5-year old took the reigns; I literally just did the initial mixing and popping the pans in and out of the oven! It was great! However, I didn’t get any pictures of the process on these two cookies, but a final picture of the finished plates that we gave away!
Here is how we made the cookies – are you ready …. quite complicated 😉
Ginger Snaps:
1 package of Betty Crocker Gingerbread mix
1 Egg
1 Tbsp. water
1 stick of butter
We made them from the instructions on the back of the package, essentially, mix ingredients, put on the pan and bake. We did take 1 extra step and that was rolling them into balls, then rolling them in sugar, and flattening on the pan before baking to make them Ginger Snaps!
Sugar Cookies:
1 package of Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie mix
1 Egg
1 Tbsp. water
1 stick of butter
Made them exactly as instructed on the package. These were for the kids’ Christmas party earlier today – they decorated them at the party!
So really, very simple, which was very good for the final baking day as it was a busy day for me!
SUMMARY: We made the following:
- 13″x9″ pan of Snowflake Surprise Brownies
- 60 Chocolate Lava Bombs
- 2 8″x8″ pans of Marshmallow Creme Fudge
- 150 Oatmeal Craisin Cookies
- 24 Ginger Snaps
- 24 Sugar Cookies
Again, we used all of the things we already had in our pantry, freezer and fridge and only needed to spend the $3.34 on the extra last minute sugar and oil! We plated them with paper plates we bought at Walgreens a couple of weeks ago (HERE). Stuck a bow on top from after Christmas clearance cheap bows from last year!
Here is what they looked like:
It was fun, yummy, and good memories and hope those of you that got them enjoyed them!
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE! WE APPRECIATE YOU VISITING US AND HOPE OUR INFORMATION ON SAVING MONEY IN EVERY AREA OF LIFE IS A HUGE BLESSING TO YOUR FAMILY!
