Time for our next super frugal and easy craft and decor idea for the Christmas season! This one was way too affordable and easy, that I ended up making 7 of these for all around my house! They are so fun and beautiful!
I literally started off just making two for my dining table centerpieces and then they turned out so well that I decided just to “go all out” and spend a tiny bit more and have these all over!
I bought most of the supplies for this at Dollar Tree.
From Dollar Tree:
- Vase
- Tube of small ornaments
- Spool of ribbon
Other supplies:
- Glue dots or hot glue ( I used glue dots)
- Scissors
- Optional: Christmas picks of some sort!
If you only had these supplies, these would be more than enough and make for super cute vases. That makes them only $3 each! And in fact, this was my intention. Then I landed in Hobby Lobby a day later….. and found these awesome glittery picks that I was able to get on sale for $1.75 each! That was a total deal for me and a super great addition to these vases. So…you can make really cute vases for $3, or add any picks or decor you find for a dollar or two and help them match your home’s decor even more!
Here’s how to make these $3+ dollar vases:
- Open the tube of plastic ornaments and dump into the vase
- Size and then cut the ribbon to the size of the neck of the vase. Then attach the ribbon with glue dots or hot glue
- Make a bow with the remaining ribbon
- Attach the bow to the vase with glue dots or hot glue
That’s it! It really doesn’t need instructions, but we wanted to share how to make very simple, elegant and thrifty decor centerpieces with supplies from Dollar Tree!
You might already have many of these things at home already.
Finally, you can top your creation with a Christmas pick of some sort – mine were from Hobby Lobby for $1.75 each on sale! They really added a lot to these centerpieces.
These are the ones I made and put all over my house:
The original two for my dining table!
I then made two more identical ones for my mantle!
How it all looks together on the mantle – along with the Stained Glass Candle Holders!
The blue version is so pretty too! I made two of these for the blue, silver and white living room!
The red and silver version in our desk area!
Finally, the solid gold version for our guest/main level bathroom!
As you can see, I went a little crazy! But they really look so cool all over the house and there were not many centerpieces I could make for much less of a cost…. so why not?!? 🙂
