If you are taking flight with kids, you will want to put together these DIY airplane survival packs for kids that only cost $4-$8 each, but save sanity.
We just made a fun announcement yesterday that we get to have a trip of a lifetime, to Orlando Florida for the Family Forward blogger event this week. We are so excited to have this opportunity.
We just got off the airplane – a 4.5 hour flight, with 6 kids ages 2-13, all night long. Yes, a red-eye. You can see why we chose a red-eye here in our trip announcement post.
The flight was a huge success and we are ready to get some rest. But part of the success of the flight with DIY Airplane Survival Kits.
We made survival kits for our toddler (2.5 years), our son (6-years) and our daughter (8-years). We filled emoji cinch backpacks with the necessities for a successful flight for each child. Our teens also have emoji bags and I was able to buy a pack of 6 with 6 different emojis for $9 on Amazon. So each kid has their own emoji bag.
Not only were these perfect for the flight, but they will use these in the parks for their necessities for the day too. I chose these emoji bags because they were affordable, but they are brightly colored and so I can spot them in a crowd in the airport or the theme park.
For the teens for the flight, they had these too, but I let them pack their own bags. They did have snacks similar to the little kids, but they also packed books, tablets, headphones, etc.
These DIY Airplane Survival Kits were also a surprise for the three youngest to make a bit more excitement on the plane. Each kit cost me around $4-$8 for the whole pack, including the snacks and activities inside.
Also, I made a second set with similar, but different activities and snacks and stuck each set in a gallon size ziploc bag and stuffed it in my suitcase, so when we depart, I can fill their DIY Airplane Survival Kits again while traveling.
