Now that the busy school season has started again, trying to find hearty, protein filled foods and snacks that are convenient and quick for these hungry, growing, learning kids can be a challenge. I like to make a lot of my own foods and snacks, but I have been bamboozled with the crazy schedules this year! I sometimes feel like I am going to have to miss sleeping some nights just to complete all of the tasks and projects I have to get done. So we wanted to find an affordable solution that would work and satisfy these amazing kiddos for after school fuel!
On especially busy and long days, my kids get that super hungry after school issue and they want a filling snack. Generally, between when we finish school to dinner time, it is about 3 or so hours. Not many snacks will satisfy kids of any age and not spoil dinner.
We headed to Walmart to check out the freezer foods, looking for something more hearty and that’s when we found the Tyson® Any’tizers. We were drawn to these for a couple of reasons: 1. they do contain more natural ingredients for a convenience food and have all-white meat, 2. they are affordable and protein-packed, 3. they are quick to make in a bind and hurry as they have simple preparation, 4. it’s easy to find coupons all of the time (like on the Tyson® site directly, so don’t go without your coupon!) to help save a little more off of Walmart’s everyday low prices, 5. They have several delicious varieties, and finally, 5. they are part of the Tyson ProjectA+™ program that will provide money to the schools from the labels you clip from the participating Tyson® products. You can nominate your school and then they will donate .24 for each label. You can learn more at Walmart.com/TysonProjectAPlus.
Watch for these labels!
When we got to Walmart, it was super easy to find the Tyson® Chicken options in the chicken freezer section. Plus, they are only $6.98 for a good sized bag!
We found this sign – not only are they great for kids as a filling snack – but apparently grown men too. 🙂
I let me preschooler and my 1st grader pick out their chicken snacks. They were immediately drawn to the Tyson® Homestyle Chicken Fries Any’tizers and the Popcorn Chicken Any’tizers snacks. I don’t know what it is about fun shaped food. They couldn’t wait to try them! These are also part of the Tyson ProjectA+™ program, along with many other Tyson® products.
When I checked the labels, the chicken fries have 9 servings! This is awesome for snack time. At only $6.98 (Walmart everyday price without coupons) that makes these only .78 each serving. It’s hard to beat a great snack for this price.
Not only that, but these fill in the gaps in snack time – fruit is never quite enough and barely sustains them, but what a perfect snack combo that is affordable too!
I am glad to find an easy and convenient option this super busy school year for my family and kids! Have you or your kids seen these at Walmart before?
