Bj’s is offering a FREE 60-day trial to their club warehouse store. This might be a good time to try out their store and discounts to see if a membership is worth the cost. We do not have a Bj’s and haven’t ever been in one, so we want to know – do you think a Bj’s membership is worth it?
We have been Sam’s Club members and just renewed last night, after it had expired several months ago. See our previous post on what we think it worth it at this warehouse buying club.
Do you have a club warehouse membership and it is worth it in your opinion?
Thanks Michelle

…no, I certainly do not! Plus, I am just opposed to the whole notion of SPENDING $ to (supposedly) SAVE $!

No, plus you should never have to pay a company to let you come into their establishment and spend your money!

No, You can use coupons & save much more that you “Save” at the warehouse clubs. Plus as has been previously said, why should you have to spend money to give someone your money.

I do….the reason is this, with costco if you get their premium membership, you can actually earn back the cost of your membership…and if not, they reimburse you anyway……Sams and costco do not allow mq…but bj’s does, and if its a multi pack of say toothpaste or toothbrushes, you are able to use multiple coupons on the package Plus you are able to stack your store q’s with the mq’s to get some really good deals

I love BJ’s since they let you stack their own coupons with manufacturer coupons.

Depends on what your needs are. For restaurants I would say yes. And some companies offer Sam’s memberships to there employees for as little as $10.00 for a year membership. I also buy them for my kids as a Christmas gift. So they get a membership free and I have a gift that they use year round. For me I like it. I live in a rural area so it’s worth it. Talk to BBQ’s who compete they will tell you they get their meat at Cosco or Sam’s. For the everyday family who have good grocery stores near them I would say no.

If you are buying diapers and formula, they might be worth it, otherwise, probably not.

At Costco- yes! I always get back way more than the membership fee with my Executive rebate. I compare per unit/ounce/pound prices and only buy item I can’t get cheaper elsewhere. Some of the Kirkland Signature products are amazing and totally worth the $. Best fish sticks I’ve ever had!
At Sam’s- no. Their prices, selection, and store coupons are not as good as Costco. We did not renew there.
Never been in a BJ’s

Not for everything. But I like to perks being a Costco member has (cheap auto insurance) etc. I don’t pay cause I get mine through my work, but I would say for $50./year, I’d save that easily on meat, and butter, etc.

When we needed big ticket items (whole house of furnishings, mattresses) yes but since we’re set on that now we don’t see a savings on the $35 a year Sam’s membership. I hear Costco is better by almost everyone who has shopped both but in 2 major cities Costco locations have always further than any Sam’s for us. For daily disposable goods: meds, food, toiletries I can get the same price per units by shopping with sales + coupons. I DO find having a membership I spend way more on non-nessesities – we never have been able to walk out without spending $100+. When I wasn’t seeing the regular grocery store bill go down after that even it was easy to sumise we were buying things on impulse, nice things don’t get me wrong, but not things we had to have.
