We recently had the opportunity to try the Old El Paso Taco seasoning mix in our own creation. Honestly, we have taco night around once a week here! It is so easy to do. We do mix it up a little with the different side dishes and ways to use the taco meat. In addition, we use the taco seasoning pouches for a kid friendly, super easy Spanish Rice. We love salads and taco salads and so that is what we made for our most recent taco night!
The kids wanted to have a picnic outside, and it was a nice October day, so what a better way to enjoy one of the last nice days of the year!
For our taco salads, we just crush tortilla chips first, then a layer of lettuce, then meat, cheese and toppings that we each enjoy! We all loved the taste of the taco meat with the Old El Paso seasoning. The salads were wiped out quick!

We make taco salads A LOT. Two things I love putting on my taco salads and just can’t live without on them is corn and black beans. Veggies and fiber and taste all in one! Also, we take tortillas, cut them into strips, sprinkle with taco seasoning and bake them for a couple of minutes to make yummy crispy strips to put on top with less calories that fried strips or chips.
