The Christmas season brings so many opportunities to enjoy your children, time with family and opportunities to share and give to one another. Why not make it a season of quiet time together and enjoy reading. Instill a love of reading in your children during this time of year and then carry it on through the rest of the year.
We actually have a fun tradition of counting down Christmas with a book each night. We wrap and put them under the tree. Some are new each year and many are old and forgotten. Then our kids enjoy unwrapping, unwinding, snuggling in and cuddling by the fire in comfy p.j.s for a great story!
Reading is a key in our house. We limit screen time majorly in our house. It’s important for us to get actual books in the hands of our children. So we wanted to share a fun reading list with you today for Christmas!
Buy a couple of new ones this year for a surprise and excitement and then roundup some old books (or borrow from the library! Who says you can’t wrap them up for a temporary read?) and read to your kids!
If you did want to add to your collection, each of these are linked on Amazon for a great price. Most are under $3-$4 each with free shipping with Prime or small order. And they will get to you quick.
Make the most of the season and an excuse to enjoy the classic entertainment. The memories you make along the way are priceless too.
Which of these do you plan to buy or borrow? Will you start a reading countdown. You can start at any point in December.
