Welcome to the 26th task and the last few days of our organization challenges! We are finally heading into our personal abodes for a organization overhaul – which means waking up on the right side of the bed too!
Day #26 Challenge – Organize Under the Bed in the Master Bedroom
Pretty straight forward task! Probably not much to explain! Under bed storage solutions can also be helpful. IKEA has some fantastic ones. We don’t utilize it for much storage, we have a computer lap desk under the bed and the “fire bat” in case of a fire emergency. I also store my oils under the bed as it is an easy access place where things don’t get piled on top of it in a cupboard or something.
But I do know many that also use the under the bed space for more storage. Shoes, seasonal clothing, miscellaneous items, etc. We do have a collapsable under bed storage in the boys’ room for misc. items.
IKEA also has many others that are decently affordable. The cloth collapsible ones are best price and easy function. Also, Amazon has some for a nice price too HERE.
Finally, you can make your own with a cardboard box and cover it in duct tape, fabric, scrapbook paper, etc. and have a homemade version that is quite handy as well! Here’s an example from A Mom Less Ordinary HERE and how she made her own with cut boxes down to size and duct tape!

Finally, here’s the unorganized mess under our bed before.
Along with showing you my mess under the bed, taking a close-up picture of the bed has pointed out some nice nicks and flaws in our bed frame, that honestly, I really hadn’t noticed until I am posting here for the whole world to see! I have a thrifty solution to fix those wood nicks and I will share that later. 🙂
I used a broom to push out the items I couldn’t reach and then did my usual “attach hose to vacuum and sweep under the bed to vacuum what I could” trick as I honestly don’t know a better way of vacuuming under furniture that can’t easily be moved.
Under the bed after!
That is today’s task! Do you store items under your bed? If you do, what tips do you have for others for an organized under bed storage?
How is your challenge going?

I haven’t followed the schedule for this challenge, but I HAVE totally cleared my kitchen of clutter, duplicates and things I don’t use. I also did a fabulous job cleaning both bathrooms. I will be starting the bedroom in the next couple of days. I’ll eventually get through the entire challenge!
I have a large wooden box that slides under my bed. It just has “stuff” in it…like a book I bought about 10 years ago that I’ve never read and likely will never read, some photo frames, miscellaneous ephemera, a few old magazines, etc. I’m really decluttering, so pretty much ALL of this will be donated within the week! I’m going to make a decision as to whether to keep this box to store something different after I’ve cleaned it out or if the box goes, too!
Thanks for the PUSH!
