Welcome to the 23rd task! Today’s task should be pretty easy for most. It could be a day to catch up as well!
Day #23 Challenge – Organize Under the Beds in the Kids’ Rooms or the Extra/Guest Rooms
Pretty straight forward task! This is also a chore we do regularly due to our bag chores, and so it wasn’t too bad, but I am always amazed and just how much can accumulate under the beds in a short amount of time!
In fact, under couches, cabinets and beds, we clean these out regularly, but it is just like sweeping – even though we do it several times a day, each time is like we haven’t done it in days. At least that is how it is at our house with 5 kids!
In fact yesterday, our 5-year old was told to clean up her art mess in front of the cabinet (the first task we did!) and her older brother saw her push papers and supplies under the cabinet. He came and told me what he saw and then when I asked her about it, she said “I thought it was okay to store things there!”
Well, that may explain some of it! The idea of putting things back where they were found still seems to be a foreign concept – but hey, it is a lesson that seems to take a lifetime to learn for most.
Let’s get back on task here and just get to the heart of those beds!
After this task, completing the closets and drawers, their bedrooms are nearly 100% cleaned out and organized! It feels so GREAT!!
First, the girls’ bunk bed.

Under bunk after one side
Under bunk after other side (sorry for the terrible pic – my angle must have been bad!)

Under toddler bed before
Under toddler bed after
Under toddler bed final after as we store this pad for a friend that visits each week for her baby while she is here. So there is something that actually does live under this bed. 🙂
When it comes to vacuuming under these beds, it’s a challenge! I can move the toddler bed to vacuum under it, but the other beds cannot be moved very easily. So I just attach a hose and sorta sweep the hose under the bed, plus reach as far as I can with a hose. How do you vacuum under beds that can’t really be moved?
How is your challenge going?
