Day #20 Challenge – Organize Movies
Okay, so this week has been about the mid-challenge hump week, giving ourselves a slight breather with easy tasks, but tasks that really affect our living areas and the places we probably see most often.
This challenge is no exception.
When organizing your movies, if you do have any that you decide you want to get rid of, we HIGHLY encourage you to take a look at the Amazon Trade-In program. It’s one of the best that we have seen, with the easiest, most convenient way to sell your used media (and other things!). So this small task may make you a bit of money too. 🙂
Check out the Amazon Trade-In Program details here.
Now on with our before/after results.
Movies before
We do have a bookcase in our library downstairs – we mentioned this library filled with floor to ceiling bookcases. Well, a couple of the shelves are devoted to extra movies. Our rule is that if the movies don’t fit on one of these two sides, they have to go downstairs. But of course, like anything, it just piles up!
Well, my kids helped me with this one as most of their movies are up here. A Disney, animated movie section, educational section, and misc. This was all the planning of our 9-year old. I would have been happy with just having them back in the right order. But organized by type is even better.
Movies after
And when it is closed, it looks even nicer!
How is your challenge going?

A few years ago I was running out of space, I went to a friend’s house and he bought binders on ebay-they hold 100/200 discs. I spent a Saturday taking the discs out of the plastic boxes, pulled the paper out, cut a small section of the front out to put in each pocket w/ the discs. I took bags of the empty boxes to a resale movie store and the recycle bin. Now I have 2 binders, one cds for music and one for movies and it takes up 1/20th of the space. So easy to turn the pages to find what you want.

I love that idea Suz! That is a great solution! Thank you for sharing.
