Well, this is an easy restaurant copycat recipe to recreate at home. And that’s what we want to share with you today!
This is also a great recipe for get togethers, picnics, BBQ’s, parties, etc. It’s affordable, filling and yummy! Grabbing a bag of tortilla chips to serve with it is affordable. And one of the BEST reasons to make this as an appetizer or snack…it’s only 10 minutes!
Ingredients needed for Chili’s Skillet Queso Cheese Dip recipe:
- 16 oz. Velveeta
- ¾ cup Milk
- ½ tsp. Cayenne Pepper
- 15. oz. Chili (No Beans)
- 2 tsp. Chili Powder
- 2 tsp. Lime Juice
- ½ tsp. Cumin
How to make Chili’s Skillet Queso Cheese Dip:
1. Cut the Velveeta into cubes.
2. Heat all ingredients in pan over medium heat, stirring frequently until well blended.
3. Serve warm with tortilla chips.

Is Velveeta cheddar cheese? We don’t have that brand in Australia.

Velveeta is a processed American cheese that can be found on the shelf at the grocery store (as opposed to being in the refrigerator with the rest of the cheese)…googling the equivalent it looks like the closest you have is Kraft Cheddar Cheese. As long as it is a processed cheese, you should get the same consistency. Hope this helps!
