The Olympics are nearly a week away! We are so excited!
Our family LOVES the Olympics, especially the winter Olympics!
We will be sharing a few fun Olympic themed posts to enjoy the worldwide games together!
Today we wanted to share our favorite Olympic breakfast idea
Breakfast of Champions
We usually have this breakfast a few times during the Olympics, but it is tradition to indulge on the morning after the opening ceremonies to start watching the games.
Our kids just loved eating their own Olympic torch and their mini-bagels color-coated to the exact shade of color required by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Well, maybe not the exact shade but the kids didn’t care! 🙂
Here’s how to make your Olympic Breakfast of Champions:
- Use mini-bagels with regular cream cheese and turn them into the Olympic rings.
- Use fresh fruits for the colors (pineapple or mango for the yellow, blackberries for the black, blueberries for the blue, strawberries smashed for the red and green grapes for the green) or even jams in those colors too.
- Then make Torches from whole wheat toast and of course used scrambled eggs for the flames!Â
- It’s just that easy, filling, healthy, fun and keeps my kids full for a long while for the most important breakfast of the day!
This was our favorite food fare during the last Olympics and it was very cheap and filling to boot!  Alex asked if I intended to make the flame “blow in the wind”.  My answer, “Of course!”  I’ll just admit to you all that thankfully it turned out that way. 🙂
Do you have a favorite or others you would love to share? Â Send us a picture of your family and party – we would love to share it with everyone!
What team are you rooting for?Â

You can use the larger paint cards as card fronts. I use half sheets of card stock folded in half for the cards. I trim off the writing and have a pretty picture. Then I go to my Stampin’ Up! supplies to find matching ink, a verse for the inside, a saying for the front (HAPPY BIRTHDAY, for example) and a punch to punch it out in a neat shape. Quick and easy! The ink is very economical as it lasts a very long time! If you don’t have stamps of sayings and verses, print them on card stock using your computer and printer. I would fill the whole page with sayings and verses, as I hate to waste. If you don’t have suitable punches, just cut them out or use your trimmers.
