We are sharing about a new rewards program that we recently found out about and that we have had a number of readers rave about. It is called Plink!
Honestly, this is all new to us so we do not have personal testimony as to it’s success, we are telling you about it too, but we are very excited to give it a try! We do know that it is perfectly legit and safe as we have researched this aspect of it as that is the first priority for us and in order for us to pass along something to you.
Well, good news is that it is real, legit and safe and it sounds like it is an easy way to get extra money or gift cards! It is a one time set-up and then you don’t have to keep cards with you, you don’t have a lot of work, just your normal life.
Here’s the description:
Get paid to eat and shop at your favorite stores and restaurants. Join Plink and earn Cash & Rewards from Amazon, iTunes, Home Depot, Facebook and more … just for eating and shopping at some of your favorite stores and restaurants. You’ll earn rewards at more than 35,000 locations nation-wide. Free to join.
Basically, you will register one of your cards (your most frequently used credit or debit card) and then once you have it registered, they will keep track of your purchases and then you earn points. Those points can them be redeemed for cash or gift cards!
You do need to initially register and register one of your cards so that they can do the rest of the work, but once you spend 5 minutes setting it up…then you are good to go!
It is an easy and secure process.
So, you, like us, may have a few questions. Here’s some answers to questions we had.
What is Plink?
Plink is a registered card program that allows you to earn Plink Points and other online rewards for dining out and shopping offline. You select where you want to eat or shop, and Plink activates those offers on your credit or debit card. It’s easy and safe!
How do you know that I’ve eaten at a restaurant that has been selected for Plink rewards?
Plink is designed so you don’t have to carry around an additional card, print out coupons, or use some sort of code to get your rewards. Simply pay with the credit or debit card you register with Plink when joining and we’ll automatically give you your rewards.
How can you afford to give me rewards?
We’ve negotiated special rewards with many of the nations’ top restaurants. They pay us each time one of our registered members dines at their restaurant and we share that reward with you.
Can I earn rewards for eating at a restaurant multiple times?
Yes. Each restaurant has specific promotions, but in general, you receive rewards every time you eat at one of the Plink restaurants that you’ve unlocked. Please see the details for each offer for more information.
I have a rewards credit card. Will it work with Plink? How are Plink’s rewards different?
Your rewards credit card will work with Plink—in fact, you’ll get rewarded twice! Standard credit card rewards programs give back users a tiny percentage of what they spend in airline miles, cash back, or other rewards. They take this amount from the interchange fee and percentage they charge merchants, and so can only offer you a small reward in return. By working directly with restaurants and stores that want you as a customer, Plink can offer much larger rewards.
The thing that we like about this so far too is that you don’t have to take surveys, do extra steps…etc. just register and move on! Also, we love the fact that you do not lose any of the normal rewards on your rewards debit (like our favorite… Perk Street) or credit card. So it is like a double whammy in bonuses!

I can’t find information anywhere explaining how the point system works. I see that you need 500 points to get a $5 gift card, but how long would it take to earn 500 points?
Cassie
I think there are several factors and some restaurants/stores are going to be a higher point value per dollar spent. It will also depend on your own spending habits. That is my short answer until we dive into it deeper. We just signed up today ourselves, so we don’t have all of the answers yet 🙂

I idea appeals to me; however, I am hesitant to enter my card info, especially not knowing exactly how long it will take to earn the 500 points, and in the absence of testimonials.

I am wondering if there is anyway to see a list of the businesses that actually work for the rewards program? I would hate to sign up and find out that I do not visit any of the places where you earn rewards.
Cassie
Hi Luann, There are 35,0000 businesses. We don’t eat out or shop tons ourselves, but the little bit that we do will most likely be rewarded. If you are familiar with UPromise where you register your credit/debit card and then when you use it at certain places, they track your purchases and reward you with adding a bit of funds to your child’s college fund account. It runs the same way, but you earn points to redeem for cash or gift cards instead. Hope that helps!
