Back To School Deals Roundup

Wow – can you believe the “Back To School” sales have already started? We were in shock…. seems like it is happening earlier and earlier every year.  We just started our Summer vacation and the weather just started it’s too 😉

At any rate, we don’t mind the “back to school” sales now as we are a family full of kids who are learning all-year round and don’t mind at all getting great deals on refills of the essentials!

It actually comes at the perfect time…. why? Well, the baby in our house LOVES to find pencils with erasers and pull the eraser off! It is truly one of the funnest things in her mind.  The downside – NOT ONE SINGLE PENCIL WAS LEFT IN OUR HOUSE THAT HAD AN ERASER! Honestly, it was like finding a gold nugget if we ever found a pencil with an eraser.

In fact, last week at Target, I bought a 24 pack of pencils for .90.  When we got home, I told the kids to make sure the baby did not find them, keep them up and if she happens to get them, take them away immediately.

So, yesterday, I was making lunch and then the two oldest girls began screaming………. I run to the family room and they are wrestling with the baby to take away the “yet to be sharpened” (that’s how new it was!) pencil with the full eraser. They got it away from her and said that they were “super heros” rescuing pencil town from Baby Villian.  They stood there with the pencil up in the air and very proud that they rescued one .04 pencil! I was laughing so hard!

I know – an odd and quirky story as I get ready to tell you about the deals around town, but hey – we all have different motivations for scoring great deals, I guess one of ours is to have pencils with erasers, even if it is for just a short amount of time…….

Our recommendation is to take this list, your ads and the few coupons here and go over to Walmart and price match these items. Shop at one place and get the best deals from all over.  Walmart many times will have even lower prices as they adjust prices throughout the week to beat the competition.  Target will also price match, but it is a bit more complicated at Target.  Be sure to check out the Walmart price matching policy and the Target price match policy before you go.
