Wheelbarrows can be found anywhere. But what’s tricky is trying to find a way to reuse an old, rusty, seemingly useless wheelbarrow. What we want to share and show you today and is that this rusty ol’ piece of junk can be transformed into something very cool and very practical for the outdoors (and some indoor ideas) and give your wheelbarrow a makeover and a new purpose.
What we love about wheelbarrows is that the good old classic metal ones will last for decades. They seem to be worthless in some sense, but they use to be very well made (and some today still are) and so it really would be a waste to send it to the junkyard.
After researching this topic, we were shocked at all of the amazing and creative ideas that people have had regarding reuse of wheelbarrows. We’ve rounded up these brilliant ideas below. Just click on the name for the full project.

There you have it! What do you think of these ideas? I love the lounge chair, portable planters, fountains…they are all just so creative and beautiful!

The coffee table idea seems cool but I feel like things would get caught on the handles a lot when people walk by. I guess you’d just have to place it accordingly.
The fire pit idea is cool too, especially if the wheelbarrow is rusty and broken.

The design would be better if the table top extended to the end of the handles. There are better examples online, but I can’t link them here.

The photo of the wheelbarrow with the chickens painted on it is my Aunt Susan’s art!

Most of these ideas are superficial, unattractive and impractical. I wonder how many you have built and placed yourselves. Really bad advice. Stop it.
