Do you want a Christmas cleaning plan for your home that is not overwhelming, but a plan to get your whole house clean by Christmas?
I know I do! Which is why, like most anything we do, break it down in bite-sized steps so that it can be easily accomplished.
So as always, we developed a fun plan called 12 Days to a Clean Christmas Cleaning Plan with Printable Chart.
Who doesn’t want a clean house for Christmas? I mean, it’s really a “duh” statement. A clean house would be nice. But if your Decembers are like mine, they are crazy! That’s why you need a Christmas Cleaning Plan! Bite-sized tasks that can be done quickly each day to make for a clean whole house at the end of it.
The Christmas Cleaning Plan can be done in 12 days or less!
We are trying to continue on with normal life, the normal everyday schedule, just amplified by a million and half other side tasks. And when you are trying to have a frugal, yet fun Christmas, it usually involves a bit more work. In fact, the year that I created this Christmas Cleaning Plan, my kitchen and dining room were overtaken with homemade gift and craft projects. I was just about to bang my head against the wall after diving into all of the little, miscellaneous projects going on (as one of them was also seasonal clothing change which is no small task with 6 kids and bins of clothes from storage all over our house right now, etc.!).
Anyway, I wanted to devise a plan that was manageable, easy, clear and daily goal oriented to help me see clearly and get our home back in order for Christmas. I don’t want to spend the last few days leading up to Christmas to get all of my cleaning done. That’s when I created this plan to attack my house the least painful way.
I want to enjoy the whole season and especially those last few quiet days leading up to it with my family, kids, friends and the season! But I have a truly difficult time enjoying the season when my house is a wreck, when I have people popping in and out constantly.
Well, I wanted to make this a fun task together in case you are in my position and want a clean hour for Christmas! So how about you join me in a 12 Days To A Clean Christmas with this Christmas Cleaning Plan? Will you join me in getting our homes in order calmly, manageably and swiftly with small tasks each day?
We can do this!
And we’ve even made my original hand-written 12-Day Christmas Cleaning Plan into a printable list for you!
So carry on with normal life, plus your extra Christmas tasks and set-aside a few minutes to complete each day’s cleaning task. It will feel so good and be so much better. And this plan actually includes a few final Christmas prep steps too. So all-in-all, you will glide right through the season unscathed. 🙂
The 12-day plan that I created, I tried to follow a logical order of my home. So I started with the Master Bedroom and worked my way through. In fact, you can see this video we did of us starting this plan in our Master Bedroom live on Facebook.
The 12 Days of Christmas Cleaning Plan has a quick list of 5-6 things to do in that room to get it clean and organized.
Here’s a summary of the 12 Days of Christmas cleaning plan, but the daily tasks in each room are listed on the full, printable plan.
- Day #1 – Deep Master Bedroom Cleaning
- Day #2 – Deep Kids’ Rooms Cleaning
- Day #3 – Deep Laundry/Utility Area Cleaning
- Day #4 – Hallways/Entry Ways and Coat Closet
- Day #5 – Bathrooms
- Day #6 – Deep Kitchen Cleaning
- Day #7 – Bedrooms – superficial cleaning
- Day #8 – Hallway – superficial cleaning
- Day #9 – Bathroom -superficial cleaning
- Day #10 – Kitchen Cleaning
- Day #11 – Whole House – superficial cleaning of dusting, vacuuming, floors, etc.
- Day #12 – Clean-up of final Christmas Clutter
There is also enough space on each day to add extra tasks that are specific to your home. If you have a playroom, office, basement, garage, porch, etc. add those tasks onto your daily plan.
Before I begin the Christmas Cleaning Plan….
I also like to start by taking 30 minutes to run through the whole house, which is about 3-5 minutes per room. I do three specific tasks before I even begin this Christmas Cleaning Plan.
- I take a garbage bag with me and throw away as much as I can
- I take a bin with me of items to donate
- I take a bin with me of items that need to be put away for more long-term, or to sell online
Once I do this, then I start the following Christmas Cleaning Plan.
Print off your Christmas Cleaning Plan and let’s get going!
Here’s a quick screenshot, but the actual printable is clear to read. 🙂

I think that Christmas cleaning is always a good thing. It helps to renew and refresh the house energy and replenish your strengh. We also invite professionals for duct cleaining https://comfortclean.com/ twice a year. But I am not sure if this frequency is enough. What do you guys think? Who cleans your duct and chimneys?

This sounds interesting, by the way, I wanted to ask, does any of you know how to clean the air duct? I urgently need to clean

I have hvac and I can’t clean it from dust, so I need a service to help with my problem. After a lot of searching on the Internet, I found a solution to my problem. If I need to clean the HVAC from dust, I turn to HVAC Cleaning Perth Amboy, because I know that their work will be done with high quality and I will be satisfied with the result
