Did you happen to get an Instant Pot for Christmas? We know it’s been a popular gift idea for the last couple of years. We know why as well because how much we love our instant pot! With that we wanted to share our favorite and the best instant pot recipes you’ll find anywhere.
There is no doubt about it that the Instant Pot is the Crock Pot of our day! We live in a world and live lives that are busy, short on time, fast-paced and full of pure awesome, stressful joy! Am I right, Moms?
You know what I am talking about…we are moms, we are busy, we do more than we should, we do have too much on our plate and we do stretch ourselves too thin.
And yet, we still want to provide healthy, homemade, frugal meals for our families. That’s why I have grown to LOVE my Instant Pot!
We use it about 5-6 times per week, sometimes multiple times a day. I have used it for a month now and everything comes out perfectly cooked. In fact, it has been too easy, too fast and too convenient, that I want to buy a second one to cook my main dish in one and my sides in the other. I might just be doing that!
What is an Instant Pot?
If you haven’t heard of the Instant Pot yet, let this very busy mother of six under age 12 enlighten you to the small appliance of the future…. it is like a crock pot, rice cooker, steamer, saute’ pan and pressure cooker all-in-one-appliance! It even makes yogurt!
It does it ALL and it does it ALL fast! I am going to share my Sunday dinner with you soon – an absolutely perfect, moist, juicy roast in 20-mins. Yes, it cooked perfectly in 20-mins! With the onions, carrots, potatoes all in one pot. It is a tradition to have a Sunday Roast around these parts, but I stick in the crock pot in the morning, let it slow cook all day, then add the veggies around lunch time and cook for another 4-hours to have nice roast for dinner. Well, yesterday, I started just a few minutes before dinner and it was the best roast we have had!
You can get a 5 qt., 6 qt. or 8 qt. I own the 8qt. 7-in-1 machine for our family of 8. Tonight…chili made from scratch with bulk organic dry beans and it won’t take me 2-days to make it… recipe coming soon. 🙂

Hard cooked farm-fresh eggs. The Instant Pot was worth it for this alone! I can actually peel fresh eggs that are hard cooked without losing any of the egg–the shells practically slide right off.

Hello! I’ve been looking for a particular recipe for a long time, and I see you have a link to it, but I’m wondering if you have the recipe because the link hasn’t worked for several months. It’s the “super easy chicken and rice” recipe by activehipmama.com but that website seems to be dead. Do you have that recipe? I remember it had wild rice and chicken and soy sauce and my daughter still asks for it but I don’t remember the recipe! Please share if you can!
