It’s snowman season! There is a really fun, easy and festive way to create sparkly snowman cupcakes! These are great for any type of gathering or party – but they would also be cute at an “any season” Frozen or Olaf party!
It’s just another fun idea and recipe to add to your collection of cute, fast, easy desserts! We will share the traditional recipe, along with short cut ideas – so no matter how much time you have, you can make a “homemade treat!”
How to Sparkly Snowman Cupcakes (Olaf Cupcakes)
Ingredients needed for SPARKLY SNOWMAN CUPCAKES:
- 1 box white cake mix (plus required ingredients listed on the box, i.e. eggs, oil & water)
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 teaspoons of vanilla extract
- 4 cups confectioners’ sugar
- 4 tablespoons milk
- Peanut butter or butterscotch chips (1 per cupcake)
- White Sugar Sprinkles
- Black decorating icing
How to make Sparkly Snowman Cupcakes (Olaf Cupcakes)
1. Prepare cake batter according to box directions and bake.
2. While cupcakes cool, make frosting. Start by using an electric mixer to beat butter until light and fluffy.
3. Gradually beat in confectioners’ sugar until fully incorporated. Beat in vanilla frosting.
4. Pour in milk and beat for an additional 3 minutes.
5. Spread a layer of frosting onto each cupcake, making it as smooth as possible.
6. Pour sprinkles into a bowl, and dip each frosted cupcake into the sprinkles – making sure all frosting is completely
covered.
7. Using the black decorating icing, create dots for eyes and a mouth for the snowman.
8. Add a peanut butter or butterscotch chip in the middle for the snowman’s nose.
Yields: 24 Cupcakes
Time: 50 minutes

- Use pre-made cup cakes that are already frosted or even already made with no frosting.
- Buy pre-made white frosting!
- Just add the sparkly white sprinkles to the top and your black decorating icing and chip!

- You can create a “Do You Want To Build A Snowman” DIY treat activity where you provide the cupcakes up to step #6 and then provide the sparkly “snow” and the chocolate chips/candy chips for the rest and everyone can “build a snowman.”
