Have you ever thought about using pool noodles in your garden? Well, you may ask, “why would I use pool noodles in my garden?”

That’s the question I want to answer today as we are sharing more gardening tips this season.

Pool noodles can be an awesome accessory and help on a dime to your delicate growing food in your yard. You see, it is perfect for anything in a cage (like tomatoes) or anything that climbs (like beans).

If you are using a trellis or cage of some sort, the pool noodles can give it the soft, cushy edge that these growing food items love and thrive on.

Here’s how it works:

If you are using one of the round cages for your tomatoes, simply cut pool noodles to size and then cut open down one side.

Fix it on top of the round cages. This keeps those vines from crimping when they grow big.

And if you are using other climbing cages/trellises, then consider doing the same thing across the top as the food grows and climbs up over the top to prevent crimping.

Plus, you really can use them anywhere in your garden where you would like your food, vines or anything else growing to grow in a pleasant and happy way to yield the most food or flowers as you would like!

The best news is that this is a super frugal tip because the perfect pool noodles are the ones from the dollar store as they are not as big and wide. They are a perfect fit!

What do you think? Would you utilize this trick to help your garden (and tomatoes) grow?
