Great article with awesome ideas I’d never considered! Especially when I was a teenager I would do anything I could to make some extra cash. My big 3 were babysitting, crafting for sale (mop dolls and padded photo albums) and singing at weddings.

Mystery Shopper Providers Association http://www.mysteryshop.org/ then click on become a shopper – there is a listing for each company and lots of good info, If you go to walmart – and see those people giving samples that is also a company – and if there is a slow moment – you can ask how they got started, etc.
So just check out the site. You will need access to the internet, and be able to scan your receipt and upload it all depends on the job – you are an independent contractor. You will also have to purchase upfront while doing the job and then you will get reimbursed once paperwork and receipts are submitted. I have done McDonalds ~ I purchased what they told me to purchased. Took note of description of employees, timed them (all without them knowing I was a mystery shopper) paid for my order. You will also be assigned time limits to do these jobs and also a day/time to do the job. The longer you do these jobs and get some certifications the better the job assignments get because they realize you will stick with it and not be gone in a year.
I haven’t done any for a while – due to a personal crisis but plan on getting back to it in 2013.
      Also check out MarketForce https://www.certifiedfieldassociate.com/
This is the one I have worked for.
You should never have to pay to sign up as a Mystery Shopper or to receive info. You can be and independent contractor for several companies not just 1.

I have done flower delivery many times. Florists usually pay per delivery, but you are responsible for your own gas. We found that if you are working one of their two busiest days (Valentine’s and Mother’s Day) – plan to start EARLY and stay late. We enter all of the delivery addresses into Google maps and plot our course before ever making our first delivery. You can make several hundred dollars in a day if you plan it right.

Most of these “money makers” are nickel and dime time wasters that have very little potential. Sure, I’ve taken surveys and earned a free DVD every other month, but that’s not “support your family” level of income. Those that have the potential for big paydays are rare or time / location dependent: seasonal, holidays, major cities, etc.
Even the bloggers / content authors I know that make $100K+/yr, wrote daily for free for 2 years before they saw their first dime of income. It’s all a matter of building an audience that is attuned to what you have to say and both have the money to spend and are willing to spend it on your products / services. I notice you have a lot of affiliate links on this site: PPC or PPS?

You can also do crowdsourcing jobs through Crowdsource or MTurk, for example.

I noticed that you have a bunch of infolinks on your site. You may want to take those out since it makes your site a low-quality site (according to my crowd sourcing job – I have to mark it as such for the Big G). Ads are fine on the side but are frowned upon within your main content.

I just love your site! For the past year I’ve done a few things on this list- transcription, etsy shop, surveys, cash back rewards. I’ve also tried various grocery apps.
As a stay at home mom of a toddler these have been great! I transcribe for 3PlayMedia. I average $300-$500/month working 1-2 hours a day.
Surveys through e-rewards I only earn a $10 Amazon card 3-4 times a year, but that really helped with Christmas.
My etsy shop is a lot of work but is fun too. I also did a craft fair and did well. Minimum effort put in and it earned about $1,000 this year.
Cash back rewards with Chase Freedom has been excellent. About $25 every other month because we have our bills autopay. We get money for paying our bills!
I’ve tried a few grocery apps. Walmarts is terrible because the clerks never know how to apply it at check out. Ibotta is my favorite rebate earning app. Receipt Hog gives points for snapping photos of receipts. Together that earned us about $150 this year.
I also sold items to Kid to Kid resale shop but didn’t track how much that was (not much ). I always took the store credit option to buy her more clothes so it helped.
    Thank you for the tips!

Would you share info about the transcription company you work for, please. I started doing the at home professions to get certified for transcription work but couldn’t do it with my other schooling. Do you have to be certified to do transcription? I heard of some companies that don’t require it but others do.

Most people do not like to do the different work at home things that involve selling because admit it most companies just don’t pay much. I have been one of these people that has tried a bunch of different companies like Scentsy, Avon, Tupperware, and even Arbonne. Truth is that you can make money if you don’t have a consultant on every corner and it depends on your area as to what people want and are looking for. Also you have to find a company that you can make more than the 15, 20, 25 or even 30% commission. Another thing is finding a product that is made in the USA because so many people ask that. A product that is useful and gets people coming back is a great thing. Here’s something to think about… how many people deal with some kind of pain whether it is chronic or just sore muscles from over use? How many people are looking for relief from that pain that is not prescribed from a doctor? How many people want a great smelling topical pain relief that not only works but has 19 natural ingredients in it? How many people would like a topical that works at the spot and quick versus a pill that takes forever and goes through out the entire body? How many people would like a great answer to all these questions? Check out this website http://EnjoyLivingAgain.com/99c71870
