You probably have noticed all the buzz about the new Android Tablets on the market.  We must admit we are pretty excited as they offer a great alternative to the iPad market and have some amazing applications in making your life a bit easier.  Danny from Android Tablet Fanatic has provided you a list of seven great tips for picking one up cheap!  We love his recommendations and are excited to share them with you if you are in the market for an Android tablet.  Now to think about using his tips to pick one up ourselves one day…  🙂

Android tablets are cool, some of them however do come with a hefty price tag. However, there are things you can do to lower the price involved in purchasing an Android tablet.

Tip 1 – Look Around
This first tip can be applied to many things and is very effective, have a look at as many sites and stores as possible before deciding on devices you might like. The reason for this is that there can be a huge variation on the price of the devices depending on where you buy.

Tip 2 – Older does not mean bad
Go for a slightly older model. This is a technique used by many a geek when buying PC’s back in the day and there is no reason why it can’t be applied to the android tablet arena. Obviously, if you are the sort of person who has to have the latest thing then this isn’t something you are likely to consider.

Tip 3 – Look Abroad…
Have a look at Chinese and Indian variations of android tablets available. They may have a dodgy reputation but there has been a rapid improvement in the quality of these devices. Worth considering this move is cash is really tight at the moment.

Tip 4 – Wait!
If time isn’t a concern then waiting for a few months can save you loads of money. If there is a model you really like that is new out at the moment then waiting a few months before making a purchase may save you quite a bit of cash. Prices are often dropped as new and improved models come out.

Tip 5 – Go for Refurbished Models
There are computer engineers that buy broken android tablets then fix them and sell them on. Buying one of these models (with the appropriate guarantees) can be a great way of getting an android tablet at a rock bottom price.

Tip 6 – Minor Cosmetic Damage
Have a look on around on the Internet and ask in stores for android tablets that have been slightly defaced. Often in transporting and shipping some models can get slightly dinted on the surface obviously seller can’t sell these. So if you go in and offer them money for one of these devices you may well find you can get quite a lot of the original price.

Tip 7 – Avoid Impulse
Avoid impulse buying when looking at different devices, take your time and try to understand what it is you want from your tablet, this will enable you to make much more of an informed decision and make you hunt down a certain type of model. That kind of approach should leave your wallet or purse feeling that bit heavier!

With these 7 tips your well on your way to picking up a cheap android tablet.
