If you, a family member, or someone you know has a wart or two, you might want to pass along a tip for warts. Warts are awful, ugly, and just downright annoying! Plus, if you are not careful and don’t take care of it, they will spread!
We had an issue with a wart and I had heard about this trick from many of my natural living friends as well as from my essential oils encyclopedia.
So I decided to give it a whirl before going to more extreme methods of wart removal. All I did was apply oregano oil with a q-tip to the bottom of my toddler’s foot (where the wart was) for a few days.
My friends had tried and recommended Oregano oil for treating warts and appreciated this approach instead of the many other methods…freezing, meds, etc.
So when one of my own was faced with it, I really wanted to give this a try and I am so happy that I did! It was painless, natural, and effective!
I now share this with everyone that I know, so I thought “why haven’t I told everyone on our site?!?”
Well….. now I have told you đŸ™‚
I did want to make a couple of notes:
- I can’t be certain, but there may be a varying degree of success based on the essential oils that you use. There are different qualities and grades. As I have stated, I use the more affordable essential oils (found HERE). Remember that for every 15ml of oil, you get 300 drops. I only applied 1 drop 3 times = a very cheap solution in the end compared to many other options! In addition, Oregano oil can be used for so much more too!
- If you or your “patient” have sensitive skin, you will want to dilute the oil with 1 part essential oil and 1 part carrier oil (like coconut oil).
- I applied the oil when he was in bed as it was on the bottom of his foot and I didn’t want him “walking” it off. It had a chance to soak in all night and do its job!
Since this time, I have also tried it on another wart on a different child, same amazing results, she can’t even remember having a wart! It really works!
Now, if I have ever seen one beginning to form, I will jump on this method for a natural and affordable solution!

I am enjoying reading all of your ideas/tips since I LIKED you on FB and also subscribed to your newsletter. I wish there had been things like this when I was raising my kids. You are great for sharing.

will this also work for facial warts?
thanks!
Jodie
Doterra essential oils are the best! They certified 100% pure.. They cost more but are worth it. Especially considering all the health benefits!

Is it working for you? My husband has several and having a hard time getting rid of them.
steph
Do you cover the wart with a bandage or sock when you apply oil at night?
Cassie
Hi Steph,
I just put socks on them after they are in bed. I put the oil on while they are in bed so they won’t rub it off with walking if it’s on their foot.

When my son was little he had warts on his fingers and even under the tip of his nail. I had read an article about using Crest toothpaste. I applied it mainly at night when he went to bed and surprisingly his warts disappeared.
Sally
It is the smothering and suffocating that is working with the toothpaste.

What essential oil encyclopedia do you use or recommend? Thank you

I have been trying to remove a wart on my son’s foot for about 2 weeks now with no luck. We first tried to freeze it -that didn work – next week tried dr Scholls pads (for a month) – didn’t work – now trying oregano oil. So far I don’t see any improvement. I have been applying it only at night; you mention 3x per day so maybe I will try to apply more often. Did you soak and scrub it with the rock first? We have been doing that thinking maybe we can get a layer or two off. Any other suggestions? I want to prove to my husband that these oils work!
Sally
If you can get a scalpel to take as much of the hardened skin off that is above the wart, shave that skin off as much as you can, then use combination of ACV (apple cider vinegar) and the oregano, if it is too intense, you can add coconut oil. If you put it on a small cotton ball and then use a band-aid to hold it there. Do this at night every night, you will be surprised how quickly it turns to black. Do not pick it off. Let it fall off. If you pick it, it will keep some of the virus and will come back.

I swear by this. I had warts on my fingers for years and didn’t know that they were warts! So i did this and gone in 3 weeks. Insane how natural stuff works better than liquid nitrogen! This serisouly saved my hands (I was so self conscious about them and now I’m not). Works great on feet too! I stopped doing it on my feet (soles) after a while becasue I started fogetting to apply it at night, and now they’re gone all by themselves đŸ™‚

will this work for plantar wart?
anne

My brother had some stubborn plantar warts that lasted two years! And the only thing that could remove them was Wart Paste, a blend of essential oils and minerals (including oregano!). So it definitely works, but you may need to pair it with other oils to be more efficient when you have stubborn warts. My brother couldn’t even walk; it was that bad! You can find wart paste at http://www.wartpaste.com

do you think this would work on skin tags too? I seem to be getting lots and I have tried Apple cider vinegar but it doesn’t work. Really hoping to find a way to remove these.
S
I tried Wart Paste.
Per their web page, “This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, prevent, or cure any disease”
This is so true. All it did after 3 weeks was to leave temporary brown spots on my feet.

I agree with you, and thanks for shernig your expierence but still have so,e doubts because of posssible allergic reaction. Do you have sopme ideas about it? may be some of readers faced it somehow? Or you sure that EO can’t have such an effects?

Oregano oil is one of the best essential oils. There is no end to the skin care benefits oregano oil. It work great for many skin problems. I used this to treat warts on my foot and within a few days I was able to remove them.
Tara
Oregano oil definitely works! I use young living essential oils. My son had a wart on his finger. I made a small cotton pellet, dipped it into the oil undiluted, placed it over the wart and covered it with a band-aid. I did this every morning and night. It turned black and fell off within a week. I highly recommend!!

In 2000 I tested positive for hepatitis C type II, supposedly the hardest to cure. I’ve never sought out the “mainstream” in medical treatments: via injections & now oral doses. I’d seen what the side effects of those treatments had had on several people, including a friend currently taking meds on the popular Hep C program advertised on TV for hepatitis C type I.
After I discovered that by taking oil of oregano gel capsules 3 to 4 times (under the tongue) daily, it put the hepatitis C in remission: as there still isn’t a cure for type II. Now, according to the medical staff at the UM Medical center at Jackson memorial in Miami, after multiple tests & exams can no longer find the hepatitis C virus in me. Since I read about oregano oil from oreganoessential.com I always keep a bottle at home. Oregano Oil is our family doctor.

Except for when you’ve had a large one for six years and have tried everything under the sun to remove it. I would say for a LOTof people they don’t just go away, hence reading blogs like this one.
Sarah
I hear you. I have a plantar wart on the ball of my foot. Never bothered me until 2 years ago a foot doctor was supposed to remove a sliver in my foot and cut the wart instead. It came back, with a vengeance, and nothing has helped. My foot hurts all the time now, walking. I cannot imagine, another 40 years living like this. Sigh.

removing warts doesn’t just include putting a topical, you have to build up your immune system to fight it off, like take orally oil of oregano, immune boosting supplements and vitamins. Then put the topical oils on.
