As promised, we said we would share some fun, unique and tasty treats for the spring season and Easter. Today, we are excited to share Peeps Pie (a.k.a. S’mores Pie) with you and it is AhMazing. Seriously.

We don’t really eat many treats in our home as we are quite picky and try to eliminate as many refined ingredients as possible, but we love to share and test many ideas for you here so you don’t go wasting your money on special treats. This one is crazy good and a special treat for a special time of year. I can’t look at these pictures for too long because I will salivate and want to make it again and again.  Just like the Peeps Doughnuts, this is a creation from our kitchen and our creative children. They love to come up with all kinds of ideas. We then take it and find a way to make it work and work well for you.

This is the recipe of the season. S’mores pie is already a great new spin on enjoying the classic spring/summer favorite treat, but when you add Peeps for the marshmallows it on a whole new level.

It is also a pretty simple, frugal chocolate pie. The ingredient list is not too long for a pie!

Here’s what you need:

  • 1 standard graham cracker crust (make it yourself or buy pre-made for .97 at most stores)
  • 1 10 oz bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • Dash of salt
  • 2  whisked eggs
  • Peeps to line the top

The steps are also quite simple:

Here’s how to make Peep S’mores Pie:

  • Add the milk and cream to a saucepan and warm up the ingredients on med-low heat. You don’t want it to boil, just get warm.
  • Once warm, add the bag of chocolate chips and whisk until they are melted and the mixture is completely liquid.
  • Whisk in the vanilla and salt.
  • Then whisk in the eggs slowly.
  • Once it is mixed well, pour it into your graham cracker crust.
  • Bake in the oven at 325 degrees for about 30 minutes or until the pie stops jiggling.
  • Pull it out and let it set for at least 20 mins.
  • Once a little cooler, line the top of the pie with Peeps Bunnies (Chicks work too, but they will most likely be crispy and burned on the beaks and heads. But some like burned marshmallows!)

  • Pop this in the oven on broil at 450 degrees and broil for about 4-6 minutes or until the peeps are toasty.

  • Pull it out and let is set for at least another 20 mins before serving, but you can also serve cold after refrigeration. It is entirely up to you and your party if you like it warm or cold, the flavor is amazing either way!

That’s it!

It’s time to indulge and enjoy!

A fun serving suggestion is to put a little dollop of whipped cream and sprinkle a few dashes of the colored sugar left in the Peeps containers for a little serving upgrade too!

Watch the video of the whole simple process and enjoy! I seriously was only going to have ONE bite…but I ate a whole piece.  🙂

Also, you can adapt this recipe for a delicious regular S’mores Pie as well! Just replace the Peeps with regular marshmallows!
