This is a sample from a previous organic basket!

Well, it’s Monday and so that means that Bountiful Baskets is open for orders for fresh fruits and veggies at an affordable price.  They open mid-morning on Monday’s and are open until Tuesday night or until they sell out.  It is for orders that you pick up on Saturday mornings.

This will be our order before Thanksgiving.  I was hoping to see more seasonal offerings on the individual picks for Thanksgiving, but if it is like year’s past, we also get them in our basket (like fresh cranberries, sweet potatoes and more).

However, they did have one of our favorite “extras,” the guacamole pack!

So we just got an organic basket and and guacamole pack this week.

Now  each week they also have non-produce offerings that seem like they could be a great value.  Most often, it is bread items. We haven’t ever gotten them before  because we have deadly peanut and tree nut allergies in our home and so I have to read labels on baked goods as baked goods are one of the biggest risks for the nut allergies. So I would love to find out if any of you have gotten these items.  I also am going to try to contact Bountiful Baskets to see about reading labels on some of these as they really seem like they could be a good deal.

Here’s those extras:

Now you may or may not know (depending on how long you have been reading our site) that we have made 2013 our year to really jump into whole, natural and organic living with the budget we have.  So with that, I have a list of “not allowed” ingredients in our foods and home.  Many baked goods do not meet this requirement, but I have found healthier loaves of bread that meet my ingredient requirements at both Walmart and Kroger for $2 a loaf! That is a great find in my book and a better deal than the ones at Bountiful Baskets at 5 loaves for $12.  But I would love to see the labels for not only allergy purposes, but to see if they meet our ingredient requirements.

Have you gotten any of these before?

If you want to see if they are available in your area too, then…

Head to Bountiful Baskets HERE and choose your state and then a pick-up location closest to you from the drop-down menu.

If Bountiful Baskets is not in your state yet, either contact them to see what they need to start one or keep watching for them to open up in your state too! They are rapidly growing and rapidly opening other states.  We have been fortunate to have been the first state and so we have been able to do this for quite some time!

*Please note, you only have until tomorrow night (Tuesday, November 19th) at 10pm PST to order your produce for this week for pick-up on Saturday at a local location!

Also, to fully understand what we are talking about, you do need to read this article HERE.
