black-friday-2013-kohls

Update: we are getting reports that the 20% off code is now only for Kohls Charge card holders.  We used the code twice this morning and we just used a debit card – not a Kohls credit card and it worked. However, they may have changed this since we shopped this morning.  If you cannot get the 20% off code to work, just use BLACKFRI instead for 15% off.  Please let us know if you were able to get the 20% to work!

I did much of my Christmas shopping early this morning as Kohls did indeed start their Black Friday deals online today.  We have mentioned this many times before, but the Black Friday sales will become part of our Christmas shopping, but it is primarily the time period in which we get the deals we need for clothing and household.

So whether you have Christmas shopping to do or not, consider the other needs you have in your home like appliances, towels, bedding, boots, winter clothes, clothing, and more.  I did buy a few Christmas presents, but I also got things we needed. Our primary need was winter boots.  They are a good price, plus 20% off plus $15 Kohls cash for every $50 spent.  3 of our family members were in desperate need of good waterproof winter boots.  I also always buy a size or two larger, especially in boots, so that they do last a few years.

Let me share some examples of items that would be really good to get right now:

down-throws-kohls-bf13

Microfleece Blankets on sale for $8.99 – 20% = $7.19

down-blanket-kohlsbf13

Down alternative Blanket (we actually bought this exact blanket two Black Friday’s ago – 2011 and it has been the best blanket for our bed year round and it is still in GREAT condition after two years and many washes!) on sale for $24.99 – 20% = $19.99

bath-towels-big-one

The BIG one towels that are on sale for as low as $1.49 (the big bath towels are $2.99 before 20% off!) = as low as $1.19

Fleece holiday throws for $3.99 – 20% = $3.19

Plus many deals in kitchen and appliances (we will be showing a separate post about how to get many appliances for around $1!) and KitchenAid Mixers.  These are much, much better prices and quality than even Walmart when you consider all of the factors! Crockpots, blenders, toasters, coffee makers and more! There are so many that are at amazing prices that it’s hard to tell you about all of them and so we just suggest head to the Kohls site to see them all! I did want to state that my sister also shopped last year for Black Friday and bought the baby cakes maker for our girls.  She got a screamin’ deal with it and then made aprons and other kitchen accessories.  They have LOVED this gift all year and so that was a really fun creative gift that hardly cost anything! I love that she went to that effort and made such a special gift as a starving college student! She stayed in budget!

This year, they are $9.99 – 20% = $7.99

As far as shoes and boots, I bought some for Christmas, I also bought some needed snow boots.  Women’s and girls riding boots are a STEAL right now! Check out these two of many options:

Women’s riding boots for $19.99 – 20% = $15.99

Girls Riding Boots for $14.99 – 20% = $11.99

I also sent a “wish list” to Alex with the riding boots and a super amazing soft plush robe.  I bought one of these exact ones 4 years ago from Kohls and it is STILL plush and awesome! I paid a super price on Black Friday.  So this year, since I “borrow” his all of the time, I said he needs to get me one! Well they are $23, but only $18.40 after 20% off.  These are the softest and most plush robes I have ever found! I am pretty confident there will be one for me under the tree 🙂

Let’s not forget that the deals above become much better when you consider the $15 Kohl’s cash for every $50 spent.  This is essentially another 30% off!!

Again, here’s the many reasons to shop at Kohls this year!

  • There are Black Friday prices that are much lower than the sales prices
  • In addition, you can get an additional discount (varies by item) with “Early Bird” prices that make the Black Friday Prices even lower!
  • They have a very large selection in every department, including toys!
  • Use coupon code: 20FORU for 20% off
  • Many items will also come with a rebate (especially in small kitchen appliances)
  • Also, receive FREE shipping if you spend $50 or more
  • Finally, receive $15 Kohls Cash for every $50 you spend (when shopping online, the Kohls cash will be sent to you via email). This is normally $10 for every $50 spent – but for this sale they are giving you $15 – WAHOO! This is usually the only time of the year that the value is this high!
  • Don’t forget to shop through ebates HERE for 6% cash back and a free $10 gift card for first time ebates users!

Head over to Kohls site here and start shopping their Black Friday Deals now through Friday!
