This is such a great and frugal DIY project! It is hard to know what to do with an old door. The wood seems a waste to dispose of and many are made with high quality. Of course, you can always refinish and hang it back up as a door, but finding some other cool ideas can be just as useful!

Well, this project turns a door into an outdoor table or patio table. It really looks awesome being used in this form – but beyond awesome, it’s a smart reuse of an old door!

This project was done by Stacey from Embracing Change.  She had this old door and found some inspiration and wanted to create something useful, instead of disposing it.

She thought this table idea! In addition, a table needs chairs! She didn’t have the chairs – she just used Freecycle and found free chairs too! You can also use a similar source like Listia for more options on finding free items (and old furniture for these nice new DIY projects!).

You will want to head over to Embracing Change site to see many pictures of what she did to create this project and what she used to finish these old pieces of furniture and get some ideas and inspiration from this great project!

What do you think of this idea? How have you used an old door?
