This has got to be one of the more creative DIY projects we have shared. Can you imagine getting a beautiful floor from the brown paper bags? Well, that is EXACTLY what you can do with this idea! It is frugal and beautiful at the same time.
It will take a bit of time to do it yourself, but imagine the after when you can enjoy the labors you put in. Looking at the after picture, can you even tell it was brown paper? It looks like a beautiful floor with lots of character.
Well, this project was done by Jami over at the fun and fabulous blog – An Oregon Cottage. She is incredibly creative and this project proves just that! She wanted to find an affordable alternative to wood floors for her son’s room. In fact, her project has been so popular that she has been featured in magazines with this project!

Now before you knock the idea down, they have actually had this floor in their son’s room for several years now. She recently posted an update on how the floors look today and issues they have had… but they are issues many deal with for many types of flooring. But you can check out the update video and FAQ.
