It has been a very busy week in the Thrifty Couple household! Between finishing Christmas shopping, birthday parties and Christmas parties I am just now getting to tell you about deals to find at the grocery stores this week.  I wanted to be able to also tell you about our shopping trips too! We went grocery shopping today and grabbed some awesome deals!

As we glanced at the sales this week, we decided that it was best to go to Walmart and price match as there were items from a few different stores, so we just thought that we would stay at one store and get it all at Walmart.   When we got there, we found some great deals, but 2 of the items that we really wanted and intended to stock up on were not even offered at our Walmart, so we did stop by Macey’s on the way home and I ran in real quick to pick up those items! So, even though we ended up having to go to 2 stores, it was well worth it!

Here is our Walmart trip:

  • 2 Yo Baby 3-in-1 yogurt meals – $1 each = $2. Then used 2 $1/1 printable (details HERE = final is FREE
  • 7 Philadelphia Cream Cheese – .98 each = $6.86. Then used 1 $1/3 RP and 2 $.55/2 HERE = final is $4.76
  • 1 Rosarita Salsa – $2.18, then used $1/1 SS 12/13 =  final is $1.18
  • 1 Snuggle – $1.87, then used $2/1 RP 12/6=  final is .13 OVERAGE
  • 1 Chef’s Request beef filets $3.98, then used $3/1 printable (details HERE) =  final is .98
  • 1 All Small and Mighty $4.97, price matched to Smiths for $3.99, then used $2/1 RP 12/6 = final is $1.99
  • 2 Green Giant corn $1.28 x 2 $2.56 = , price matched to Smiths for $1.00 x 2 = $2.00. Then used $.50/2 printable HERE =  final is $1.50 for 2 or .75 each!
  • 2 Pillsbury Brownie mix $1.38 x 2 = $2.76, priced matched to Harmons for $1.00 x 2 = $2.00. Then used $1/2 RP 11/18 =  final is $1.00 for 2 or .50 each!
  • 2 3-lb bags clementines $3.99 x2 = $7.98, priced matched to Harmons for $2.98 x 2 = $5.98. Then used .55/1 SS 12/6 = final is $4.88 for 2 or $2.44 each!
  • 1 chocolate milk $1.18, price matched to Fresh Market for $1.00. Then used .50/1 RP 11/1 = final is .50!
  • 1 Gallo salami $3.98 price matched to Albertsons $2.99. Then used $1/1 RP 11/15 =  final is $1.99.
  • 4 Kraft Cheese $1.96 each x4 = 7.84, price matched to Albertsons for $1.49 x4 = $5.96. Then used 2 $1/2 printable HERE = final is $3.96 for 4 or .99 each!

Summary: Total came to $48.16. After price match, total was $38.31 ($9.85 savings in price matching), then used $18.20 in coupons for a final total of $20.11!!!

As Walmart did not carry the right size of Olay or the lunch meat, we ran to Macey’s
(an associated food store) and here were the results:

  • 10 Carl Budding lunch meat on sale for $1.49 = $14.90, then used 8 $1/1 SS 12/6 and 2 $1/1 printable HERE = final is $4.90 for 10 or .49 each!
  • 5 Olay Body Wash sale for $2.77 x 5 =  final is $13.85.
  • 5 Olay Body Lotion regular price of $6.59 x5 = $32.95, then used “Buy any Olay Body Wash get Olay Lotion FREE” PG 11/29 = final is FREE!
  • 1 Loaf Bread sale for $1.67 =  final is $1.67.

Summary: With sale prices, total was $63.37. Used $42.95 in coupons for a final total of $20.42!!

Between the 2 trips – we spent $40.53!

I also saw some other great deals combined with coupons. I will put these in a separate post later for more shopping ideas this week, just wanted to share our trip real quick!
