We can’t believe its August already! Its amazing as it seemed like only yesterday I was shoveling snow off my sidewalk – ok, maybe it seems like it was last week. But we also noticed that we are nearing the 2,000 Liker mark. We thought we would mix this giveaway up a bit. We are going to give away a gift card valued at…… 1 cent per The Thrifty Couple liker on Facebook!
How does this work? Well, if we end the day at 1,988 likers, then our awesome winner will get an Amazon gift card valued at $19.88. If we end the day at 100,000 likers, then one of you will get an awesome $1,000.00 gift card (update: I had $100, but one of you is keeping us honest – note to self: don’t do math after midnight). We know we’re really stretching on that one, but at least you know how we are playing the game. 🙂 As you can see, if you encourage more of your friends to become likers, then your potential prize keeps going up!

When the family is on trips we always try to find state parks to stop at have a picnic and some of them have trial you can hike. I would so recommend the natural cave in KY this was an wonderful site and it was all free.

We have been thrifty camping this year. We bought a really old truck camper (1979) to put on the back of our truck & it was the same cost of a tent, except this has beds, a stove, sink, table, ice box and solid walls ceiling and door. We have 1 year old and 3 year old and tent camping wasn’t working or fun at all but now we feel safe and warm and we can go on vacation for free any time in a home away from home. We’ve had a blast this summer. We needed it before daddy goes back to school this fall.
