Sam’s Club is stepping up to the plate during a time of need! With the current government shut down of 2013, Sam’s Club is allowing military personnel, retirees, spouses and their families to shop at Sam’s Club until things are up and running again.

Normally, anyone can shop at Sam’s Club, but if you aren’t a member, you will pay a 10% surcharge. Well, this surcharge is waived for the military.  Please note, not every Sam’s Club is doing this, only 50 or so nationwide that are located near a military base.

There are some rules though:

  • Sam’s Club will remain open to military personnel and families until the U.S. government resumes domestic commissary operations.
  • Any military ID or proof of past or present service can be shown at Member Services desks or at checkout to waive membership requirements. Club associates are happy to help guests with questions as they enter the club.
  • To learn more or to find out if your local club is participating, please call or visit your local Sam’s Club.

Will you be shopping at Sam’s Club during this shutdown?
