Pumpkin Maple Bars Recipe

- ⅓ C unsalted butter, room temp
- 1 C sugar
- 1 egg, room temp
- ½ C pumpkin puree
- ¾ C flour
- 1½ tsp pumpkin pie spice
- ¼ tsp salt'
- 3 TBSP unsalted butter, room temp
- ¼ C heavy cream
- 1 C powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- ½ C packed dark brown sugar
- Pinch of salt
- -Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- -With baking spray prep an 8x11-inch baking pan. (8x11 for thinner bars or 8x8 for thicker bars)
- -Cream the butter and sugar together with an electric mixer.
- -Add the pumpkin pie spice to the pumpkin puree. Stir to mix.
- -Beat the pumpkin puree mixture in with the egg, add to the butter/sugar mixture.
- -Mix the flour and salt in a small bowl. Set aside.
- -Slowly add the flour and salt combination into wet ingredients. Blend well until just combined.
- -Pour into the prepared baking pan.
- -Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
- -Cool completely before frosting.
- - Combine the butter, cream, and brown sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat.
- -Stir occasionally, until mixture just begins to boil.
- -Take saucepan off the heat and stir in vanilla. Set aside.
- -After cooling stir in powdered sugar.
- -Spread frosting over the Pumpkin bars.
- -Sprinkle chopped pecans on the top.
