Recipe type: Classic American
Serves: 12
Ingredients
Ingredients for the jam
  • ¾ Cups of orange juice (I like to use the kind with a little bit of pulp!)
  • 1 Cup sugar
  • 12 oz. cranberries (this is one regular size bag or about 3 cups if you don't have a food scale)
  • ¼ tsp of cloves
  • ¼ tsp of cinnamon
Ingredients for the biscuits
  • 2.25 cups of flour
  • 1.5 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 1 TBSP Sugar
  • ½ cup cinnamon chips (each bag will make 3.5 batches of biscuits)
  • ½ cup of softened butter
  • 1¼ cup milk
Instructions
Instructions for the jam
  1. Add the sugar and orange juice to a sauce pan.
  2. Bring to a rolling boil while stirring.
  3. When it is a rolling boil, add the fresh cranberries and drop the heat to medium
  4. Stir occasionally as it is boiling.
  5. Also, listen for the cranberries to “pop” as they begin popping, stir.
  6. Continue to stir and boil on medium for about 4 minutes.
  7. Add the cloves and cinnamon and then cook for another 5-6 minutes, until it is a thickish jam consistency.
  8. When the jam is a deep red and thickening, take it off the stove and let it cool for about 10 minutes.
  9. Then scoop it into the jars you intend to store/give it in.
  10. This recipe is about 16 oz. of jam. I can fill four 4oz. bottles.
Instructions for biscuits
  1. Cut in ½ cup butter
  2. Mix in 1¼ cup of milk and blend until well mixed
  3. Drop the biscuits on a greased pan and bake for 12-14 minutes in a 425 degree oven or until golden brown.
