Tater Tot Casserole

Recipe type: One Dish Entree
Serves: 8-10
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 can of cream of mushroom soup (or equivalent with prepared cream of mushroom soup with SOS mix found at TheThriftyCouple.com/SOS)
  • 1 med. onion diced
  • ½ cup of sour cream
  • 1 TBSP of Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 TBSP of Soy Sauce (we prefer to use Bragg's Liquid Aminos)
  • A few dashes of Tabasco Sauce
  • A few dashes of salt and pepper
  • 32 oz. bag of frozen tater tots
  • 16 oz. bag of frozen mixed veggies
  • 1-2 cups of cheddar cheese
  1. Brown the ground beef and rinse and drain.
  2. Then put the ground beef back into the pan and sauté the diced onion until the onion is browned.
  3. Prepare your SOS Cream Mushroom soup if using.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the soup, sour cream, Worcestershire Sauce, soy sauce, Tabasco sauce, salt, pepper and mixed veggies.
  5. Then stir the beef/onion mixture into the sauce.
  6. Pour into a greased 13x9 baking pan. Then top with the frozen tater tots.
  7. Bake in the oven on 400 degrees for 30 minutes.
  8. Then top with cheese and bake for another 5-10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and melted and the tots begin to crisp!
