Easy Way To Organize Winter Accessories: Use an Over-The-Door Shoe Organizer

Today’s featured DIY project is an easy organizational one! Trust me, as a family of 7, organization can be a major issue! I am always looking for affordable ways to make life easier!

My friend, who has a family of 9, had this hanging in her front closet for all of her kids to get their winter accessories out. It’s brilliant!

It is an over-the-door shoe organizer.

Whether you are a big or small family, you might find this to be an easy and effortless solution to those winter accessories. I love it too because the littlest family member can reach his hat, gloves, scarf, etc.  Daddy’s row is the top row, mine is second and then it goes down the organizer by age/height!

We’ve been using this all winter and it has saved potentially hours of digging  in the “use to be winter accessories bin” and then “clean it all back up, just for the next child to dump it out and start again” problem!

These are very easy to find and they are literally sold all over town and online!

But before I bought one, I checked and compared prices and I double-checked today before posting to tell you about the BEST prices around!

  1. Walmart has them for $13 everyday.  You can see them online, but they are also in-store in the section where laundry baskets and other storage containers are located. You can also order online and then have them shipped to the store for free.  See them at the Walmart site HERE and search “over the door shoe organizer.”
  2. The exact same one is available on Amazon for less money! I got mine on Amazon which was just a bit cheaper than Walmart and I didn’t have to leave home to pick it up. They are $12.72 right now on Amazon HERE.
  3. Home Depot has the same exact one on sale for $12.72 right now too (Amazon will most often match the lowest prices around on their site, which is why the are both the exact same price!). They are normally $14.97 from Home Depot. See them at the Home Depot site HERE and search “over the door shoe organizer.”
  4. Finally, Bed Bath and Beyond has them for $14.99.  It’s a different brand than the one from Walmart/Amazon/Home Depot and different from the one I have, but it is probably still good! If you have that $5 off $15 purchase coupon that they send frequently, you can get it for $10! See them at the Bed Bath and Beyond site HERE and search “over the door shoe organizer.”

So, the best option is #2 – the easiest and cheapest!

Head to Amazon HERE for the Over-the-Door Shoe Organizer for the best price
