Today, we are sharing a super simple, yet very tasty and filling frugal recipe with you today. The idea is just too genius for busy moms and dads, gives the nutrition needed and makes for a delicious meal.

We make 1lb. of steak work for our family. Even with our family size, we have always made one pound of meat work for our family. It means saving money when we can each have a couple of ounces. But you can use whatever amount you want.

This is also a fast dinner – which is really nice for those busy weeknights!

Ingredients needed for Couscous and Steak Bowls:

For the Meat:

  • 2 Pounds meat strips
  • 4 Tbsps olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Couscous:

  • ½ Cup couscous
  • 1 Cup water
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 Tsp salt
  • 1 Tbsp butter

Side:

  • ½ Cup parsley leaves
  • 1 Cup black olives

Directions for Couscous and Steak Bowls:

For the Meat:

Place the meat in a bowl and mix it with the Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, salt, and pepper.

Heat the oil in a pan, and transfer the meat.

Cook over medium for 8 minutes or until desired doneness.

For the Couscous:

In a pot add the water, oil, and salt to a pot. Bring to  boil.

Remove from the heat, add the couscous and let it swell for 2 minutes.

Add the butter and stir and cook over low heat for 2 minutes.

Serve:

Serve the couscous in bowls with the meat, black olives, and parsley.

Enjoy.
