This giveaway was to get some fun Valentine’s Ideas and share what you do for Valentine’s Day. But before we announce the winner, we will quickly tell you what we do…. it is really quite simple.
On the actual Valentine’s Day, during the day our kids makes love notes to each other and to mom and dad. We talk about what true love is and the love of the Savior in calling them to Himself. It is a great opportunity to discuss these things as well as address the world’s superficiality to love. We want to nurture a true love spirit in our children towards one another (their siblings who are their best friends) as well as that greatest love that any of us has ever been shown.
We then also usually have a heart shaped pizza from Papa Murphy’s and enjoy a night of games and play and homemade treats. Alex and I never go out on Valentine’s day for many reasons, 1. it is impossible to find a babysitter and we don’t want to ask someone to babysit on Valentine’s Day (including family), 2. the restaurants are super crowded, 3. we love to be home with our kids that day. Alex and I make it a priority to have date night pretty much every Friday night. Granted most all of them are “date night in” but our kids respect that fact and they have kids night in with games/movie/playing in one of the kids’ rooms. We do go out though on the weekend before or after Valentine’s for our rare “date night out.”
