Time to share the next fun, festive, frugal and easy Christmas treat idea with you – Christmas Tree Brownies. With Christmas being right around the corner, some new ideas are always helpful to have and to keep in your back pocket.

This one is really fun, plus it is a festive alternative to cookie decorating. There are so many possible ways for you to decorate your Brownie Christmas Trees, that it makes for a ton of creative, edible fun.

I am going to show the semi-homemade way, but in all honesty this is so super simple! The hardest part is figuring out how to cut the brownies to get as many possible trees without waste.

Also, you can make these from brownies made from scratch, made from a box, store-bought and then cut…whatever your time allows.

The video shows the super simple steps to re-create this Christmas themed treat.

Let me share the written steps with you too:

Ingredients needed for Christmas Tree Brownies:

  • 1 box of brownie mix (including required oil, water & eggs) or your favorite brownie recipe
  • 1 cup frosting
  • Food coloring (any color(s) you choose for the garland)
  • Candies and/or sprinkles to decorate

How to make Christmas Tree Brownies:

1. Prepare and bake brownies as directed on box or recipe.

2. Allow brownies to cool, and gently remove from the pan and place onto parchment paper.

3. Divide the brownies by cutting a straight line down the center horizontally. Cut off hard edges and then cut triangles out of each half to create the trees.

4. In a small bowl, mix food coloring into frosting until you reach desired shade. Spoon frosting into a piping bag or a sandwich bag with the tip cut off.

5. Draw garland onto trees.
