Apply For a 70-Day Job That Pays $18,000 – It Is Easy Too (Maybe)

laying-down-for-70-days-sm

Does the title of this post sound intriguing?  Does it totally sound fake?!?

Well, it did to me at first… but it appears to be totally legit, especially because it is from NASA!

It is a study being done by NASA. What they are looking for is for people to stay in bed for 70-hours straight!

Now, if you are like me, Alex read this to me at 6 am this morning as I was trying to motivate myself to go on my morning run after a long night of not-so-great sleep!

I was like “sign me up” even before I heard what the pay was?  The pay is $18,000 for 70 day study!

But realisticially, there is no way I could do it as a homeschooling mom of 5 as nice as it sounds.  But…. this could be a fantastic opportunity for those in the right situation.

Now, I will saw that at first thought, it sounds wonderful, but let’s really think about this!

The rules are:

  • You cannot get out of bed
  • You have to stay lying down
  • BUT you can read, play on the computer…etc. as long as you can do it in bed laying down the whole time
  • Don’t ask me about the bathroom and eating as I don’t know….. maybe someone has to bring you food, maybe your are on an IV and a catheter…. I just don’t know those details, but they are serious about laying down for 70 days!
  • It is also not done in your own home, but in a small confined room at the Houston Space Center as they try to simulate a “zero-gravity” environment (thus staying in a lying down position the whole time).

That could be quite difficult, but for 70 days and $18,000, it could be a good job for you if you are in the right situation! It is basically $1,800 a week or even $257 per day! That is really, really good pay!  Even if we didn’t have kids and other commitments and able to do it…. I don’t know if I could (even with as tired as I get each day!), but the pay is nothing to scoff at and might help reach financial goals a lot quicker!

Here’s the reason why they are looking for “healthy” test subjects:

“The Flight Analogs Project Team at the Johnson Space Center is conducting a series of studies that support the scientific needs of the space program. These studies develop methods to keep astronauts healthier and safer when they spend a long time in space without gravity. NASA calls these methods “countermeasures” and uses them to minimize the changes that occur to the body during space flight and enable the return of normal body functions once back on Earth. Healthy test subjects are needed for these studies!

The Test Subject Screening (TSS) at the Johnson Space Center is responsible for providing qualified test participants for ground-based research.”

Basically, researchers will monitor how long-term confinement to a reduced gravity environment affects muscle and bone strength, cardiovascular function and mental health as they learn more to prepare their astronauts for space travel.

You can apply on the NASA site HERE.

You can read more on the Forbes site about the lying down test study – please note, that after the extended bed rest, you do have a 2-week or so period of exercise to recover as explained in the Forbes article. It also appears that there is a separate job for an exercise study, but we don’t know the details and pay on that one right now 🙂

So we want to know…. Is this something you would do if you were in the right situation?  And if you are in the right situation, are you going to apply???

Countermeasure and Functional Testing Study – 70 Days
This study is designed to minimize loss of muscle, bone and cardiovascular function through high intensity interval-type aerobic exercises on alternating days, with continuous aerobic exercise daily. So you’re not laying down every day

I spent 200 days confined to a hospital bed last year…..No amount of computer time, videos, or money could get me to do this!

Do they also put you in a zero gravity environment? I would not want to do it out of concern for how long it might take my body to recover. I’m certain it would cause adverse health issues. I know how nuts I went on bedrest during pregnancy, and I had a super awesome reason for staying down. I don’t think “good pay” would be enough for me. Perhaps this would interest some young people, though?

I think it’s better to get a normal job, so as not to torture yourself. If you’re a good specialist, try to get a job at an employment agency, because you can find a job there pretty quickly. An acquaintance of mine told me that he found a general labour jobs at https://jobssite.ca/jobs/general-labour/. Maybe this will help those who are looking for a job.

I am from India and I don’t want to have my low-paid job anymore. I want to move to Dubai and as all my friends who work there say that they live a happier and more abundant life.

My dear friend, and what did you do to find this dream job of yours? I work in Mumbai film industry, so I have no plans of moving out anywhere. But many of my friends work there too. So they found their positions via jobs in Dubai – Layboard and this is why I am asking about your actions. It is very hard to miss this website. Provided that you do something.
