8 NATURAL & MEDICINE-FREE (AND CHEAP!) WAYS TO CURE COLD AND FLU

sickkidThis post is dedicated to my 4 sweet little kiddos! We are a house full of sickies right now! They don’t seem to mind as they get sleep overs (all kids in one room  – campout style – to run humidifiers and menthol vapors!), watch movies, and get pampered!

Anyway, thankfully for the stock of cheap tissues, menthol and saline rinses (and the chicken soup!) already in our storage – I researched ways to help speed the process and found a great resource.  At thebabyzone.com, they have a list of 8 medicine-free ways to cure a cold or flu for babies and toddlers. I am posting this in case any of you are going through what we are!

Here are the 8 things they suggest:

  1. Bulb syringe for stuffy and runny noses
  2. Saline drops (this is ThriftyAl’s #1 cure – he swears by it for all of us!)
  3. Cool mist humidifiers
  4. Shower steam room
  5. Menthol and Eucalyptus vapors
  6. Increased fluid intake
  7. Chicken noodle soup
  8. Comfort and TLC

These are great tips – to visit the website to see the details with pictures of each of these, go HERE.

Also, if you are looking for coupons for tissues, medicines or the saline drop kits, go HERE and search for your item!

* This is not, of course, intended to be medical advice – always check with your doctor first!
