We LOVE today’s featured DIY project. We are HUGE Lego fans in our house!
In fact, it is the greatest toy on the planet!
Both boys and girls love them.
This is even one toy that its “ok for moms and dads to admit they love to play with too.”
They provide hours of play.
They “build” (pun intended) creativity, spatial relationships and problem solving in a child’s brain! We also use them for simple math and complex math as well as colors and sizes in our children’s everyday hands-on education.
Who could seriously ask for a better toy??
Well, most households do have Legos around.
Trust us, we can’t forget the fact that we do because our bare feet tend to find them at the most unwanted times!
We wanted to find some Lego storage solutions that weren’t expensive, very practical and a nice way to organize and make play and the clean-up easily accessible (because as much as we love these toys, we hate having to pick them up constantly!).
We scoured the web and found the best of the best ideas. We found the following five ideas based on a table you currently have or one that you can find for super cheap at a garage or rummage sale. Many of these ideas will spark your creativity to create your own! If you make one, we would love to showcase your creation here too.
Which table is your favorite?
Here we go!
The first idea we spotted was turning this old, ugly, square table into this nice Lego table. This one was done by the creative mom at Just a Little Creativity. She shows you step-by-step what she did to make this revitalized table creation!
The “UGLY” before
The “Awesome” After
The second idea takes a small end table (what decade is this from? 70’s, 80’s?) and makes quite a creative Lego Table DIY creation! This one is slick, small and very practical. The busy mom at Fussy Monkey Business shared how she turned this old side table into this fabulous table and how you can make one too!
The beautiful finish to this fun practical Lego Table!
This next one is a fun one, complete with a sliding storage drawer and a road on the sides! It is really cute and another great modification done by the talented moms at PreK and K Sharing site and see how you can make this one too.
The Hip Before 80’s Table
The Hip”pier” 21st Century Table
The fourth great idea is a large Lego table with a large coffee table! I actually personally like this one best, not because it is the best as they are all fabulous, but because we have 5 kids who all love to play Legos together. This is the size we would need! I love that she took one of those 80’s style coffee tables and turned it into something so 21st century! You can see it on the Infarrantly Creative site with step-by-step instructions.
The “Ewww” Table Before
The WOW Table After
Finally, this is an AMAZING transformation for a pure ugly, old, ruined (in my book) table turned awesome Lego Play Table! My Little Gems found a gem in this old table because with a little TLC and creativity, it has a truly awesome end! One thing that I LOVE about this table is the wheels to make it a rolling table. I can totally see the useful value of that on any of these ideas! You can see this idea from the visionary mom at My Little Gems site with the instructions as well.
What do you think of these ideas? Which one is your favorite?
