Welcome to day #21! We are moving to a new area this week. This is going to be a busy week for me as I have a lot of these…… 🙂

Day #21 Challenge – Organize Kids’ Drawers (Or extra room/guest room drawers)

The new area that we are moving into are the bedrooms and rooms that are not your own. First, if you have kids at home, then your focus is going to be on their dresser drawers.  If you don’t have kids at home, then many have guest rooms or extra rooms. In those extra rooms, organize the drawers in those rooms (including rooms like craft rooms, etc.)

Just hop into those rooms and quickly re-organize the drawers.  It might seem like a daunting task, but once you start, you can make progress quite quickly.

We have five kids, and so I had a LOT of drawers to organize.  It did take me about 2 hours, but I got every clothing drawer cleaned out, and my process may have taken a little longer, as I also made a season change.  So I either donated the old season’s clothing or put it away for a younger child.  I then added the new season’s clothing.  So I had to get bins from our basement and put a little more effort in.  You may or may not have to do this, but at the very least, organizing, getting rid of the too small, and getting it to a place that your children can easily find their clothing again.

If you have those extra rooms or guest rooms, go through those drawers, cubbies and bins that would act as drawers and get the organized too.

Here’s a few pictures of the before/during/after results.

Yep, we are officially not changing diapers for the first time in nearly 11 years.  Our youngest is not potty trained!

We hope today’s task will make a big difference as we start in the bedrooms and extra rooms in our homes this week.  Even though you can’t normally see the drawers, the fact that they are organized when they are opened is so refreshing!

How is your challenge going?

What brand of cloth diapers do you use and are you happy with them?

Hi Elaine – we use Bumkins brand cloth diapers. I did like them, they were easy to use and adjustable for any age/size, which was nice. I would recommend them, especially if you can catch them for a great sale (when I stocked up and started). What have you tried?
