Week #4 Focus Areas Schedule! Plus, share your updates on this challenge!

Can you believe that we are now on week four of our 30 Day De-Clutter Challenge? The goal of this challenge is very simple: just simply get rid of 5 things each day! Since we are nearing the end, you should have around 120 items that you have gotten rid of.  By the end of this week, it should be 15o total items!

Are you seeing some changes around your home?  Are your 5 bins/boxes filling up?

Well, this week’s focus ares are some big hitters, but still make it easy on yourself by getting rid of 5 things everyday.

*Remember that your goal is to get rid of five items a day in the 30-days.  See the full instructions to the declutter challenge here.

So for week #4- these are the areas we encourage you to start with on your clean-out and to focus on this week:

  • Basement
  • Garage
  • Storage Areas

Basically just focus on your extra areas that often harbor a lot of hiding items this week and find 5 things each day to get rid of!  These area are notorious for collecting items that we no longer use, but they just sit! So it may be easy for some to find the 5 items each day.

Again,  here’s those reminders of those questions to ask yourself when you are working through this!

When are decluttering and trying to find things to get rid of, seriously ask yourself these questions:

  1. Do you really need this?
  2. When was the last time you used it?
  3. Do you have duplicates of this that complete the same job?
  4. Is it valuable?  (this doesn’t mean to not get rid of it, but perhaps upsell it!)
  5. Is it sentimental, but not necessary to keep out?  If this is the case, that’s what those bins/boxes talked about here in step #2 set-up are for.
  6. If I don’t need it, is there someone I know that needs this?  This goes into the borrowed box.

Finally, although this is the last week, we did want to remind you to keep this in constant maintenance mode by ridding your home of 5 things each week!  So we are going from 5 things a day to 5 things each week – all of which will help to keep the clutter down!

*Be sure to join us on our Facebook page HERE where we will also be giving daily goals and tasks for this challenge!

How is your declutter challenge going so far?  We hope you are finding many things to get rid of and getting these areas of your home organized!
