Enjoy this upgraded version of the classic Pumpkin Bars with the Maple Frosting - it's an amazing combination of festive flavors!

Ingredients
Pumpkin Bar Ingredients:
  • ⅓ C unsalted butter, room temp
  • 1 C sugar
  • 1 egg, room temp
  • ½ C pumpkin puree
  • ¾ C flour
  • 1½ tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • ¼ tsp salt'
Maple Frosting Ingredients:
  • 3 TBSP unsalted butter, room temp
  • ¼ C heavy cream
  • 1 C powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • ½ C packed dark brown sugar
  • Pinch of salt
Instructions
Pumpkin Bar Directions:
  1. -Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. -With baking spray prep an 8x11-inch baking pan. (8x11 for thinner bars or 8x8 for thicker bars)
  3. -Cream the butter and sugar together with an electric mixer.
  4. -Add the pumpkin pie spice to the pumpkin puree. Stir to mix.
  5. -Beat the pumpkin puree mixture in with the egg, add to the butter/sugar mixture.
  6. -Mix the flour and salt in a small bowl. Set aside.
  7. -Slowly add the flour and salt combination into wet ingredients. Blend well until just combined.
  8. -Pour into the prepared baking pan.
  9. -Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
  10. -Cool completely before frosting.
Frosting Directions:
  1. - Combine the butter, cream, and brown sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  2. -Stir occasionally, until mixture just begins to boil.
  3. -Take saucepan off the heat and stir in vanilla. Set aside.
  4. -After cooling stir in powdered sugar.
  5. -Spread frosting over the Pumpkin bars.
  6. -Sprinkle chopped pecans on the top.
