Recipe type: Breakfast, Snack or Meal Replacement
Ingredients
Base ingredients:
  • Any fruits will actually work well in the smoothies.
  • A liquid of some sort: kefir water or milk, fruit juice, milk, almond milk, rice milk, soy milk, vegetable juice or just a bit of water.
  • Veggies - unlike fruits, not all will work and taste good or have good consistency. Here's a list of great ones: Spinach, Kale, Celery, Tomato, Carrots, Avocado
  • Bananas and/or oranges (or orange juice) as these fruits mask the vegetable flavor to make it taste like pure, juicy sweet fruit no matter what you pile in there!
Additional optional ingredients to kick up the healthiness and protein of your smoothie:
  • Plain or flavored yogurts
  • Flaxseeds
  • Any extra probiotics - like kefir - or from the bottle even!
  • Wheat Germ
Instructions
  1. Pile in the fresh foods first
  2. Second add the frozen foods, or ice if using all fresh
  3. Then pour a bit of liquid into the blender to get the process started
  4. Start your blender and then as the blender is blending, add more water or ice as needed until you reach the desired consistency.
  5. Add your bananas and oranges to taste
  6. Add and blend any of the optional ingredients as well
