I was just wondering if you ended up owing money during tax time for the income/rewards received for online surveys? Do you know if this stuff has to be claimed? I am looking to make money completing surveys, but I am afraid I will have a huge expense at tax time. Thanks for the work you do and for the info!!

Yikes! That’s scary. We personally haven’t ever bought coupons on Ebay for multiple reasons, but one being not knowing whether or not they can be trusted! Thanks for the head’s up Kristy!

Not sure if you’re interested in sharing this but I purchased some “free huggies” coupons from what appeared to be reputable sellers on Ebay and received some of them today. They did not have the hologram that Kimberly Clark uses on their “free item” coupons, so I called Kimberly Clark and verified that these are, indeed, fraudulent. Everything in the coupon is accurate and it WILL scan at the register. Even the paper feels “official”. The problem comes in when the store attempts to redeem the coupon and they can’t. They are for free Huggies Big Packs and are valued at up to $24.00. There are tons of people who buy and use these coupons and I’m wondering if even the sellers are all aware. Just thought I’d try to spread the word.

First I want to say AWESOME website! But I have a problem. I used to get your RSS feed on my cell phone, But ever since they downloaded new software into my phone I cant get your RSS feed back. It wont let me download it now. It just keeps giving me an error. Can you help? THANKS!

Love your email savings!!! I wanted to let you know that I was in Target yesterday buying gum and they had the 3 pack gums marked down and the Shawn White gum was marked down 2 for $5 and there was a coupon on the package for $2 off!!! That made the 3 pack .50 cents!!

Hi Kim, the Walgreens and Rite Aid that you are seeing is just a snippet of the list. You will want to click on the “display all matchups” button to reveal the whole list which would then show CVS, plus Walmart, Target, Babies R Us, Kmart and more! Hope that helps!

Hello Thrifty Couple,
I need serious helpful advice. I wanted to try the whole couponing thing. So I started getting Sunday Papers. I clipped, and clipped. I pulled out the coupons I needed to do my shopping and went to the local Walmart. I live in a very rural area. The only other “supermarket” in town is a “Save-aLot” which is a deep discount “off brand” type of market. I do not live near any other major stores.
In any case, I went through Walmart and in EVERY instance but one, I found that buying what I NEEDED of the Walmart brand, I saved money. For instance
I had a coupon for50 cents off any Gorton’s Fish product. I wanted to purchase fish sticks. So I get there, and Gorton’s Fish Sticks were 4.98 the Great Value Brand was 3.48. Now I’m not super at math but even I can subtract so I feel that when it comes to saving money, it made more sense financially to scrub the coupon, and purchase the Walmart brand. I walked out of the store that night, having purchased what I needed but not saving anything because the store brand was the better deal. So, my question is, what do I need to do to re train my thinking? I am assuming that this must be the problem. What else should I be doing? If I could make couponing work for me, I would be all over it, but I just don’t see how this is going to work. Can I be helped?
( It should be noted our rural Walmart does not accept computer printed coupons, nor do they take register receipts from other stores.)
If couponing will not work for me, please just let me know, so I can stop feeling so guilty over what I DO spend on groceries.

I can’t print your Good Bites dog treat coupon says $2 off at Target, I have a Mac. Really what’s the point of a site with coupons that don’t print, page comes up completely blank when I click on the coupon.

Hi Guys! I am one of your fans from Michigan (Thrifty Al, I was one of your readers you featured for the target deals a few months ago) and I have a submission for your work from home ideas –
I JUST (like last Friday!) resigned from my position/career after 9 years, to be a stay at home mom/wife. I have a 2 year old. 7 years ago, I started a Calligraphy Studio named “Graceful Expressions”. I am a calligrapher, and I am able to make a sizeable income from home addressing wedding invitations, placecards, corporate work, etc. I am self-taught, and have never taken a professional course in my life. For anyone that has beautiful handwritting, or those artistic types, this may be a great suggestion. I was able to get started for under $100, run my own website, and when I am doing projects, the client supplies the items – so there are no products I need to purchase before hand, except for ink which lasts forever! I do several bridal shows a year, and that takes care of my business. Right now I have already booked 2012 brides! I decided to quit my job and stay at home, and actually with taking my son out of daycare and eliminating some of the other expenses, the income I can generate from Calligraphy is fairly close to what my salary was! (and my little guys sits next to me as I read aloud the addresses and cities, states, and zip codes and colors!)

If you could add Homeland and United to that list! Those are the only grocery stores in my town. Have to travel over 80 miles to get to the stores you have listed. All the gas would eat up my savings.

I find it very difficult to try to get points online from the receipt of my prescription. Please make it easier……maybe by allowing it to happen IN THE STORE……instead of online…and advise me how to get my points from my receipt online. Frustrated again and again
