Are you wondering how to remove marks on the wall without damage to the paint? I hope to provide a cheap, fast and easy solution to that problem!
I like fast and easy tricks that will solve a problem. One of those issues that pop up on my wall are marks like scuff marks, pen, pencil, crayon, marker, etc.
I will make my own homemade magic eraser to clean my walls and it works beautifully. However, there are just times I need a solution FAST and for those spots that pop up here and there.
In the past, I have just quickly used a soapy dishrag, like when I am washing the dishes. But the problem is that it doesn’t work well on marks, only food and kids greasy handprint stains. If I wanted to remove marks, I would have to scrub the wall and have often taken the paint off the wall in the one area, creating a permanent mark.
Straight alcohol is terrible for the walls too.
Then I remembered that baby wipes contain a gentle amount of alcohol, which I haven’t been thrilled about for my babies and their sensitive bottom skin, thus the reason why I often make my own homemade baby wipes to use at home and sometimes on the go. But I also keep baby wipes for wiping faces and hands on the go. Baby wipes are just convenient.
So I decided that since they contain just enough alcohol for gentle baby cleansing, perhaps it would be enough to remove the tougher marks on the wall, without affecting paint, and without me having to whip up a batch of homemade magic eraser mix. Just pull the wipe out, quickly wipe and problem solved in seconds.
And guess what? It works perfectly!
I try to “wash” the walls a couple of times per year or so, but marks happen daily when you have 8 people living in the home. So now, when I am walking around and see a spot on the wall, I can just quickly grab a baby wipe and wipe it all away gently.
There really isn’t some special method to do this, just gently wipe and anything that is a little stubborn, give a very gentle scrub to the mark directly and the alcohol in the wipe will lift the mark, not the paint.
This is my experience of course, but with any cleaning tip or trick, always test an area first as I haven’t tested it in all wall and paint types or colors, but it works perfectly in my home!
So, I encourage you to save money, time, and effort with a fast solution and
Use Baby Wipes To Remove Marks on the Wall without Damage
As another side note: baby wipes are the best cleaning product for microfiber furniture and couches.
I would share a picture, but I sold them and replaced them a few years ago. I didn’t like microfiber because of how easily it got dirty. But if you have microfiber, baby wipes were the best, fastest and gentlest solution, but they were still a pain to clean and maintain as I had to do it so often. However, baby wipes are better and cheaper than any other solution I found.
So there are some really good reasons to always have baby wipes on hand, maybe not for sensitive baby bottoms, but hands/faces, walls and microfiber furniture.
I am sure there are dozens of other helpful uses for baby wipes too. What other unconventional ways do you use baby wipes?
