Interested in learning how to get a discount senior national park pass? Well, we have great news for Senior Citizens that want to explore the national parks. For a limited time, you can buy a lifetime national parks pass for only $10 per person! To qualify, you need to be 62 or older and a permanent US citizen.
That is an amazing deal considering that a pass is normally $80 per person!
This pass gives you free access to more than 2,000 Federal recreation sites where Entrance or Standard Amenity Fee(s) (Day use fees) are charged. Those parks and lands are areas run by these agencies: the following agencies:
- Bureau of Land Management (BLM)
- Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation)
- Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS)
- USDA Forest Service (USDA FS)
- National Park Service (NPS)
- US Army Corp of Engineers (USACE)
With over 2,000 visiting locations across the country, this will keep senior travelers very busy! The senior pass also gives camping discounts at some locations.
Note that when you apply, you will need to upload proof of residency and age. This may be done by photographing the document and uploading it to the order.
Now although the pass is technically $10, there are document processing fees of $10 making the total cost $20. Then your pass will be issued to you.
Here’s the thing….
The USGS site says that this $10 price is for a limited time only, and on August 28th, 2017, the price will increase to $80. It is probably a good idea to take advantage of this sooner rather than later!
