Now that you have your cover, you can put your binder together a number of different ways:
- Use a three ring binder .5″ or 1″
- Use a Pocket Folder
- Use a stapler
Really, just use whatever you have on hand to keep your costs low.
I really like having it in a 3-ring binder. It is the easiest and most convenient way to manage my planning, no matter the season. I have a few 3-ring binders on hand for different planners that we made.
Second, if you use a binder of sorts, I love having the page dividers with tabs. I actually use the erasable tab page dividers so that I can re-use them after this Christmas season. They are very cheap and worth the investment.
You can get 8 page dividers with erasable tabs for only $1.28 with any $25 or more order on Amazon (check out the AMAZING Christmas sales on Amazon in our Amazon category HERE to bundle into your order for maximum savings!) Walmart is about double the price, but still very affordable!

As you can see, it all fits together beautifully to make for a sleek seasonal planner! Categorize your binder however it makes sense for you. We keep the budget summary, spending tracker and the events planner in the front part for quick reference. I then divide it by gifts, food, cards and decorations, giving, Black Friday and travel plans. You may not need all these categories, or you may want to divide them further. It is totally up to you!
One final thought (I didn’t take a picture of it, but…) the 3-ring binders often have pockets in the front and back. In those pockets, I keep catalogs (like the current one we have stuck in there from Mind Ware who makes really sweet educational toys – each of our kids are getting a couple of items from this catalog), special coupons (like the $5 off $25 for Toys R Us that I have in the pockets right now) and ads in these pockets. If you need more, I would recommend getting the pocket dividers instead of the page dividers to give you even more ability to keep everything in one place! The pocket dividers gives you two pockets for each category!
For an example, Amazon has the plastic pocket dividers on sale for $5.39 for 8ct. with free shipping with Amazon Prime or a $25 or more order. Again, this is cheaper than Walmart, but Walmart is still an affordable option.
With the right binder and the right dividers, you can literally take all of Christmas with you where ever you go
It is crazy how just a few minutes of putting together your binder could save you hours of time and save you loads of money! And perhaps a bit more sleep too
