We love finding ways to think outside the box to save and even generate a little income. So the question becomes what if you can do both!
We met Eric and Amber at the Christian Home Educators of Colorado (CHEC) conference last week and loved one tip that their family implements to not only make a little money (which isn’t their primary reason by any means), but rather with the intent of saving money on healthier options for their family.
Eric shared that he works part-time at a local health food store which means he can save a lot of money, usually $200-250 per month, just by using his employee discount. He mentions you can save on average between 10-30 percent with an employee discount, so depending on where you work will yield different savings. This could be a great benefit to request more information about when looking at some of your local health food stores.
Finally, brainstorm who in the family might benefit most from this type of work. It could be mom or dad, but a teenager looking for some experience and even trying to understand a bit more about how a retail store operates might be a good consideration.
Thank you for sharing this tip with us Eric and Amber!
